The deck is 100% not optimized for competitive play. A large focus of the deck involves getting +1/+1 counters out with Marchesa

Piloting the Deck

Marchesa, the Black Rose constantly wants to be at a lower health pool than her opponent to proc her (and her allies') dethrone keyword. You mainly achieve this through self damage like Mana Crypt and Vampiric Tutor, as well as by tapping your lands like Ancient Tomb, Blood Crypt, and Mana Confluence.

Some Basic Combos

Marchesa, the Black Rose + any +1/+1 counter engine like Unspeakable Symbol + any sacrifice engine like Carrion Feeder is most likely the most natural combo that will come to most players. A great way to extend this combo is to use Danny Pink as a draw engine on top of that and to use Deathrender as a summon engine. Do note, that extending this combo to include Danny Pink and Deathrender is a near to infinite combo that you can also attach Flayer of the Hatebound to.

Card Swaps

Most similar decklists were abstaining from running cards like Feign Death and Undying Malice, in favor of running more creatures or board clears like Killing Wave or Chain Reaction. My decklist opts for these smaller spells to provide optionality in situations where Marchesa, the Black Rose is unable to give creatures the stickiness they need from dethrone.
