What strategy? Me Timmy, me smash.

Deck philosophy

Mono green is fun. Everyone who says otherwise is just in denial. Playing big creatures and mashing your friends is fun. Not thinking about correct timing of instants and combo pieces is fun. Not hoping for the right land drop is fun. At least sometimes. So what's the problem usually? Big green folds to interaction. Board wipes? Well shit. Your 12 mana critter just got removed by a 1 mana Swords to Plowshares? Well, at least you got some life. And how dare this blue deck counters your Ghalta, Primal Hunger? How can we solve this problem then? Just play every creature in existence that is annoying to deal with. Board wipes? Spearbreaker Behemoth says no. Path to Exile? How about you pay 10 mana extra for that when targeting The Tarrasque. Counterspell? Say hello to my good friend Tyrranax Rex. Hasty big threats are really good, believe me. Getting your face suddenly smashed with a 20/20 The Tarrasque + Unnatural Growth is really hard to deal with for control decks, especially when you just spent the turn wiping the board and spot removal doesn't really work.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is to not overextend. Don't play your 10th threat of you already have 9 threats on the board that are hard to deal with. In the end you can do jack shit against cards like Farewell. Your board will get wiped one way or another. But if you have the next (preferrably hasty) threat already in your hand, then you don't care.

Keep calm and keep smashing. Oh yeah, tutors suck. You just play the same cards over and over and over again. Boring. I prefer to play no tutors at all. "LIAR, what about Invasion of Ikoria  ". Screw you, I just want the back side of it, mkay!

Good matchups

Any deck that relies on spot removals or vanilla board wipes to survive.

Bad matchups

Solitaire combo decks. If they go off on turn 4 or 5, you probably had no way to kill them before that. This is a strictly casual deck. If you have a lot of "lul, I win"-combos in your circle, don't play this deck. Play mono blue and make them cry instead.

Oh baby, Last March of the Ents sure is a card. It perfectly fits the theme of the deck with "This spell can't be countered". I will try it in the spot for Genesis Wave. It's not exactly the same as March needs a creature on the battle field, but oh boy does it feel bad to get your Genesis Wave with X = 13 countered by Mana Drain (yes, that happened last round). Last March of the Ents should be more reliable in that sense. Other than that, I don't think anything thematically for this deck was released. Delighted Halfling is of course an awesome card and you could easily slot it in, but since it does not protect itself I will not play it :).

OUT: Genesis Wave IN: Last March of the Ents
