This Dynamic duo forms the core of our imaginative and synergistic commander deck, designed to explore the depths of our powerful partnership mechanic. In this deck list, we'll be enhancing Pir's prowess in +1+1 counter shenanigans and toothy's insatiable appetite for card draw, all while maintaining a balance between fun, interaction, and touch of whimsy.

music to listen to while reading my decklist:

Pir, Imaginative Rascal, and Toothy, Imaginary Friend, are two Magic The Gathering cards released in the Battlebond set. These cards are designed to be played in two-headed giant format, where players form teams of two and work together to defeat their opponents. Pir and Toothy are a team of legendary creatures, with Pir being a green Human character, and Toothy being a blue Illusion.

In the MTG lore, Pir is a young, imaginative human who has a knack for invention and creativity. He is always coming up with new ideas and tinkering with various contraptions. His boundless imagination conjures up Toothy, an imaginary friend who takes on a life of its own. Toothy is a magical illusion, appearing as a large, toothy creature that helps Pir with his various projects and adventures.

Together, Pir and Toothy form a powerful team, with their abilities synergizing well together. Pir's passive ability adds additional +1/+1 counters to other permanents under your control whenever one or more of them would receive a +1/+1 counter. Toothy, on the other hand, gains a +1/+1 counter whenever you draw a card. When Toothy leaves the battlefield, you draw a card for each +1/+1 counter on it.

As Pir and Toothy were introduced in the Battlebond set, their story is not heavily connected to the broader Magic: The Gathering lore. They are unique characters designed specifically for this set, showcasing the fun and camaraderie of two-headed giant gameplay.

Pir and Toothy is a 6 or optimized commander deck

Pir and Toothy are two powerful commanders in EDH that can lead to a strong and synergistic deck. Here are some tips on how to win with a Pir and Toothy EDH deck:

  1. Card draw: Toothy, Imaginary Friend is a card-drawing machine, and the more cards you draw, the bigger he gets. Cards like Tolarian Winds, Windfall and sylvan Library can help you draw a ton of cards.

  2. +1/+1 counters: Pir, Imaginative Rascal gives all your creatures with +1/+1 counters an extra counter, which can quickly get out of hand. Cards like Doubling Season, Hardened Scales, and Branching Evolution can help you double the number of counters you're getting.

  3. Dont hate and proliferate: Proliferate allows you to add additional counters to permanents that already have counters on them, witch include +1+1 counters, loyalty counters and poison counters. cards like contentious plan, tezzeret's gambit and steady progress synergies with Pir and toothy's abillity's. You can also use the proliferation triggers to make some friends: pls dont hate on me and i proliferate!

  4. Win conditions: Once you have a lot of +1/+1 counters on your creatures, there are a few ways to win the game. You can swing in with a big army of creatures, use cards like Zegana, Utopian speaker or Triumph of the Hordes to give your creatures unblockable, trample and/or infect,

  5. Combo potential: Pir and Toothy also have the potential to create some powerful combos. For example, if you have both Pir and Toothy on the battlefield and play a card like jace's Archivist or Hydra's Growth , you can draw a ton of cards and quickly make Toothy huge. Ezuri, Claw of Porgress and Sage of Hours can give you infinite turns to close the game. You can also go for a fun way to win with simic acendancy.

Overall, the key to winning with a Pir and Toothy is to focus on card draw and +1/+1 counters, protect your board state (for me its politics: dont hate and proliferate) , and have a few strong win conditions in your deck.
