So I started out with Zur stax, but it wasn't really doing what I wanted. Did some research and decided to put together my own Zur deck built around some combos. I didn't want to do Doomsday Zur, because that's been done and I wanted to challenge myself to build my own competitive deck. I settled on a reanimator package with the Reveilark/Karmic Guide loop + Wall of Omens + Sack Outlet for Win. Also decided to go Bomberman to win (infinite mana, use one of a gajillion spell bombs to draw out deck, cast shit and win).

Is it as competitive as Doomsday Zur? Short Answer: No. It hasn't been play-tested yet and the mana base hasn't been fine tuned. I've been spending time fixing it up on paper however, and I really really like it. I will be spending time working on it to optimize it, play testing and gold fishing it into oblivion.

I do, however, believe that with optimization this can serve as a possible alternative to Doomsday Zur. My thinking is that this build is more resilient: Doomsday Zur is all in, once you've Doomsday'd, you have to protect Lab Maniac or you're pretty screwed. If we buried alive Reveilark/Karmic Guide/Wall of Omens with a sack outlet on the board and reanimate we produce infinite draw. Using either Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar we'll produce infinite mana in addition to draw (if you have Ashnod's you'll have infinite color, draw out deck, then cast Phyrexian arena to get color). Now you can cast any number of spells to win the game: Sickening Dreams, Lab Manic+Draw spell, Zulaport/Blood Artist + our loop to kill everyone. (With time I imagine we'll compact this down to 1 or 2 win cons).

We also have access to the Bomberman Loop: Auriok Salvagers+Lions Eye Diamond = infinite mana and we use one of the bombs to draw out our deck and win. Having both options lets you plow through hate, makes your opening hand way more flexible and the Spellbombs themselves can be useful when you need to draw. (Early game they can be used in combination with your Vamp/Imp/Enlightened tutor to put the mana rock you put on top into your hand and hopefully onto the battlefield).

I would love any helpful feedback. I know this deck isn't optimized yet and another discerning eye could help me get it there. Also can't decide if this should be Zur the Bomberman or Zur the Necromancer.

Update: Played this for a bit and after major disappointment, I gave up on it. Built Thrasios/Tymna instead. Keeping this around in case someone comes around and finds a way to make this work better.
