My personal take on a cEDH deck which includes cards I own as well as price reduction swaps so I don't need to spend a cool five grand on a powerful deck. The name of the game here is human cheating into infinite combat while protecting ourselves until we get there. By leveraging as many low cost creatures as we can and focusing on stax creatures that are both human and non human, we are maximizing the mana savings from Winota.

Math and Magic

The math is simple: 99 cards / 6 cards per search: 16.5 searches to clear the deck. That indicates to use that we need minimum to attack 17 times with non-humans, and have 17 humans, in order to create the average of finding 1 human per search. We've upped the numbers to 45 creatures, and 34 lands. We might go up to 36 lands to get our land drops by turn 4 over 50% (this will essentially ensure we get the base necessary to play Winota more often than not).

Gameplay

We need an opening hand that contains at least 2 lands, from there we want to prioritize stax creatures and other permanent field effects. Like most MTG decks we are hoping to ramp as much as possible early, and get Winota alive and cycling turn 3-4. This deck looks to strike hard and fast with combat damage. We can't afford to give our opponents time to build their combos or interactions. This means we may need to play a bit of "bully ball" and knock out opponents who can fog us out or otherwise stop combat damage.

Infinite Combat Combo: Combat Celebrant + Rionya, Fire Dancer This works because at the beginning of the combat phase on our turn, we use Rionya to create a copy of Combat Celebrant. We exert the copy of Combat Celebrant as it attacks to create another combat phase. At the beginning of the next phase we use Rionya to create a copy of Combat Celebrant. Rinse and repeat for infinite combat phases. We have an number of beneficiaries from finding this combo such as Holga, Relentless Rager, Myrel, Shield of Argive, Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder, and Loyal Apprentice.

I'm doing my part!

The biggest help I could get with this deck is understanding what kind of counterplay stops our gameplan dead cold. No deck has the ability to stand up to everything, however understanding what kind of things to be wary of will help me develop better "table sense" regarding when I am in real trouble. The second biggest help would be understanding if I should be leaning more into other combos that Winota can get out prior to Infinite Combat damage. We're not necessarily looking to create a combo deck, but if we can get some serious benefits while maintaining our Stax and Fight strategy I figure why not?
