Let me tell you, Rat Colony shows up, in force, and thanks to Metallic Mimic and Swarmyard , that 1 toughness is not really a problem. If Piper of the Swarm happens to be on the field, these rats 2-for-1 opposing creatures all the god-dang time, at worst, and get to just straight-up murderball two blockers if they're regenning on the 'yard.
I gotta say, few things feel better than having a couple Colonies get blocked, while Chittering Rats squeaks through - ninjutsu in a Throat Slitter at the last minute, killing another of their critters, and THEN turn around next turn and hit 'em with that sweet, sweet chittering the following turn. No fruitful draws for you!
Throw in a little Bontu's Monument for cost reduction, life gain, and a touch of burn, and you're in business.
