Maybeboard

This deck is all about making Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale big enough to kill an opponent with commander damage in one swing, by suiting her up with cards like Blackblade Reforged , Colossus Hammer , or Cranial Plating and then giving her double strike and or doubling her damage. To that end, we're running Embercleave , Fireshrieker , Boros Charm , Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion , for double strike, and Inquisitor's Flail and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight for straight up damage doubling. Gisela and Boros charm also contribute towards our protection suite, which is great.

We then run a few cards that make sure Syr Gwyn connects with our opponents unimpeded, no matter what blockers they might have. My personal favorite trick here is to equip Gwyn with Vorrac Battlehorns , this card interacts with menace in such a way that it makes Gwyn completely unblockable. Trailblazer's Boots often results in the same effect, as even mono-colored decks tend to run nonbasic lands for utility in their decks, while Bathe in Light , Shelter , and Sejiri Shelter   can all grant protection to Gwyn, which we will generally be using to protect her from removal or theft effects, but can handily grant her the ability to swing in and have no creatures on our opponents board be able to block. card:Divine Reckkoning and Single Combat both wipe the board down to one creature, which isn't enough to block Gwyn thanks to menace, while Cosmotronic Wave and Master Warcraft both allow us to control which creatures are allowed to block at all. At this point it is worth mentioning Mob Rule , Kindred Dominance , and Sunforger . None of these cards are expressly involved with preventing blocking, but we can generally use Mob Rule to seize an opponent's entire board, while Kindred Dominance leaves other players without ny creatures in most situations, and Sunforger can fetch us any number of useful spells, including Master Warcraft and Cosmotronic Wave.

The rest of the deck is more general purpose ramp, removal, card draw and protection, with a lean into Knight tribal, and some lifegain and graveyard hate to offset the life cost Gwyn pings us for when we draw cards. We obviously run lots of equipment, so crds that hold artifact/equipment payoffs are a no brainer. That's how we ended up running card:Danitha Capashen, Sram, Senior Edificer , Akiri, Fearless Voyager , Cabal Paladin , Foundry Inspector , and Jhoira's Familiar .

Our mana ramp is concentrated at the 2 mana slot (although we do run Sol Ring , Wayfarer's Bauble , and Traveler's Amulet for that quick start) and includes all of the signets, including Arcane, and the Talismans of Indulgence and Hierarchy, as well as Mind Stone , although you probably want to swap that out for Talisman of Conviction if you have it. As a deck that cares about equipment, we're incorporating that into our ramp too with Prying Blade , Dowsing Dagger  , and Sword of the Animist rounding out this section of the deck.

Card draw is our next mainstay section, and Gwyn has some card draw stapled on, which is great, and we get a similar effect from teh already mentioned Akiri, but we want to make sure we can draw reliably, so we're running Rogue's Gloves , Stormfist Crusader , and Knights of the Black Rose as extra card draw that fits our themes of equipment and knight tribal. Harvester of Souls is another great card draw card, particularly in multiplayer games, so it's in too, as are Acclaimed Contender , Thalia's Lancers , and Wishclaw Talisman for some ability to tutor out cards we need.

Since our deck is so reliant on Gwyn being on the field, we want to protect her. To achieve that we have Mask of Avacyn , as well as Dauntless Bodyguard, Shielded By Faith, and Bolt Bend. Grand Abolisher is particularly useful to make sure that our creatures aren't countered, and to make sure opponents can't destroy equipment in response to us moving to equip it. We also have our spells that grant literal protection as well.

The deck runs a fair amount of removal, in a mix of sweepers, and single. nonland permanent removal with Vona, Butcher of Magan and Argentum Armor.

Syr Konrad, Crypt Incursion, and Rest in Peace constitute our graveyard hate, while Butcher's Cleaver, Loxodon Warhammer, and Vault of the Archangel help us to offset the lifeloss from Gwyn's draw price.

Haste cards. Extra attack steps.
