'Cause she knows that it'd be tragic if those battlecruisers win

~$42.00 tempo burn list for the haters. Suck it up and London to 3 if you must; we're looking to stick a 1-drop into turn-2 Yuriko or even a turn-2 owl into a smoother flight path every single game.

Yuriko's card advantage ability means different things for different builds. In a dedicated Thassa's Oracle combo or even an extra turns list, we hope to hit enough triggers to tutor for our finishers or influence interactions; for slower control builds going all in on a combo, we wish we could only reveal mana sources; on this burn life, we're looking to maximize the magnitude per trigger, which makes us the style most dependent on top-deck manipulation.

When your library weighs just shy of ~280 CMC, you'll have to hit with your ninjas about 10 times - except, our spread is wild and you're basically flipping a coin with each hit: on heads your expected value is less than half a damage; on tails you're draining the table for 5 and a half. Honestly, playing this way really does require you to be comfortable with gambling and playing to your odds. If you bristle at the thought of playing from the mindset of 'I need to hit 10 triggers ASAP or else risk losing control of the board - and then ultimately the game,' then rest assured that you aren't wrong and that what you're feeling is valid. However, if your attitude is 'I win if I hit 10 times, and sometimes even sooner than that', then you're going to have way more fun. Admittedly, you might be the only one having fun.

Still, compare this to any real Yuriko list featuring discipline and vitamins - aka real interaction, a respectable mana base, and oracle consultation/doomsday piles... this isn't remotely competitive. And yet you still get to curb stomp the general population ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

This deck is gambling on a burn plan, so the natural evolution of this after standard upgrades is to shift into the slimmer extra-turn spells, but if you've upgraded your mana base and allow yourself to use the fish in any capacity, you're probably just better off going for the combo and running out harder lines of interaction. It's unclear to me whether a hybrid involving extra turns is actually worth anyone's time beyond a certain budget restriction - you may want to save your Capture of Jingzhou for your Taigam, Ojutai Master and Edric, Spymaster of Trest brews. Yuriko has the luxury of fully aligning with the tortoise or the hare, but trying to compromise those paradigms is probably a mistake for everyone at those tables.
