This is a fun little casual deck that might be genuinely competitive.
The main focus of the deck is the synergy between Fathom Mage and Lorescale Coatl. Hardened Scales obviously aids this dynamic, and makes all of the other spells much more powerful.
For example, with FM, LC and HS all in play, if I cast Courage in Crisis and place it's +1/+1 counter on FM, it creates a chain reaction resulting in FM gaining 4 counters, LC gaining 9 counters, and drawing 4 cards. Pretty nifty move for 3 mana, if I do say so.
The win cards are the Champion of Lambholt, Zegana, Utopian Speaker and Sage of Hours (the Sage is magnificent in this deck - cast Sage with Hardened Scales in play, cast Give targeting the Sage, get a Time Walk effect for 5 mana). All of the mana ramp in there is for the sake of taking advantage of the bountiful card draw. And Spike Feeder as a last ditch, easy life-gain that can get pretty big quickly in this deck.
I will also point out that this deck is very closely almost Modern legal, which it can be made quite simply by replacing Ezuri, Claw of Progress with Evolution Sage. It might actually even be better that way, though I haven't played it both ways enough to know for certain.
And finally, there's an infinite turns dynamic between Ezuri, Claw of Progress and Sage of Hours, once "The Claw" gets me to 5 experience counters. I really don't like running infinite combos, but it is there just in case.
