This is an extort deck, you know what that means - take all the life!

Serra Avatar takes advantage of this to become massive whilst Palisade Giant helps protect me from enemy damage, especially when enchanted with Gift of Immortality. Teysa, the previous commander of this deck, also provides great protection by destroying anything that tries to attack and giving me spirits with which to block and save my more valuable creatures.

Meanwhile, Athreos enters the battlefield as early and often as he can to keep my creatures in the game or whittle the opponent's life total down, either way he wins. If he's not there to save a creature, I have some ways of drawing them back to continue the fight.

Otherwise, this is a pretty standard extort deck and was the first deck I built and am still building.
