First of all, I just want to start off with saying that as your first build, this is insanely impressive. Regardless of what I might advise that you change, this is a super great first deck.

So, touching on what I think you can improve on the most. The small swings of life won't matter as much as you think they will. Cards like Angel's Feather, Ajani's Mantra, and Ephara's Radiance with the small incremental life gain is not particularly good in a format where you start at 40 life. Cards like Debt to the Deathless are better because later in the game you can pump as much mana as you want into them. I would suggest replacing the above mentioned cards with more creatures with lifelink. You're running a mostly Vampire typal deck with some angels, both of those are great at using lifelink. That will help with the life gain aspect you like while making your deck more effective, both by putting more creatures on the board, and by gaining life in a more proactive way. Overall, I think you definitely need more creatures, Vampires and Angels like to have lots of bodies on the board and 23 is a bit low for that.

Next, I'm looking at your removal and I've got some suggestions there as well. Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares are some of the best pieces of removal in the game and I would highly suggest them. Harsh Sustenance is particularly not great because of you don't have any creatures of board, it's pretty useless. While sacrifice effects can be good, letting out opponents choose what to lose is not as good as getting to destroy something yourself. Granted, I don't know your playgroup, maybe there is a lot of hexproof, or a Voltron deck or something. Regardless, I would drop the sacrifice effects for more targeted removal. Last thoughts on the removal part of the deck, hand destruction effects aren't as great on EDH because you still have 2 other opponents that will have all the cards in their hands. Tbf, there are definitely worse effects, so if you like it, then absolutely, plsu it.

Overall your ramp package is really good, the only thing I would add is Arcane Signet and Talisman of Hierarchy for 2 more 2 mana mana rocks. The 1 damage from Talisman of Hierarchy isn't really going to matter and any deck that is 2 or more colors should be running Arcane Signet imo.

Alright, final thoughts. This is a fantastic first deck and importantly, these are just suggestions that I think would work based on my experience playing and building decks. If you like something and think it's fun, play it, no matter what anyone says.

So, suggestions

Cards I think you should cut Angel's Feather Ajani's Mantra Blood Reckoning Claim of Erebos Ephara's Radiance Harsh Sustenance

Cards I think you should consider adding Path to Exile Swords to Plowshares Arcane Signet Talisman of Hierarchy

Last thing, EDHREC is a fanTASTIC resource when building your decks, I suggest looking at the Vampire or Angel page for suggestions because I think you need more creatures, just pick whatever you like, I would be looks at somehow closer to 30 creatures.

And here is the Drana and Linvala page with a life gain focus because that seems to be up your alley.

Welcome to the club, Jeaux!

Following up on the good advice wallisface laid out, what are you looking for out of your deck? With what you have here, if you like the concept of this deck in particular, I see a little bit of an Equipment theme. That's a good place to develop. Try to find artifacts with the Equipment subtype, creatures that have bonuses for being equipped, and cards that interact with artifacts in general and Equipment in particular. Cards like Tasha's Hideous Laughter and Ephara's Radiance don't really support this strategy, while Auriok Glaivemaster and Steelshaper's Gift do. If attacking with powered-up creatures and finding ways through your opponent's defenses sounds like your preferred play style, this is a good way to start.

If you have any questions or want more advice, please ask. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site who are willing to help.

And above all, have fun!

Hello there! You were very kind to me in your comment on my Pyrohemia deck, so I figured that I should return the favor.

As a disclaimer, though, I am about to suggest a good number of changes, so bear with me. I'm definitely not aiming to completely deconstruct and rebuild your deck.

To begin, there are some cards in here that I find superfluous. For instance, I know that Crypt Rats is appealing, fits the theme, and acts kind of like a 5th Pestilence, but it requires assistance to stay alive. It isn't as good for the deck as it might seem. I feel like you'd be better off replacing it with something to tutor out the Pestilence, like Idyllic Tutor or Enlightened Tutor.

Similarly, High Priest of Penance is a one-shot ability that you're only running one of, and really would require Shielded by Faith in order to really floop the pig, which you're also only running one of. I would cut both of them.

Next, Sanguine Bond and Night Dealings are both good synergies with Pestilence, but they're also pulling up your mana curve. You want to make sure that you have mana to pump into Pestilence as often as possible. I would keep one or the other, or maybe even cut them both.

Then there's the 3 Lifelink I get it why you'd want them, but feel like you'd be better served with something like Sun Droplet that's not dependent on creatures dealing damage. You don't need to gain a ton of life, just enough to keep your life total higher than your opponent. By that same token, I think 3x Drain Life is too many.

Next, I would update your creature base. Remember that you need to have at least one creature in play to keep the Pestilence on the battlefield, and right now you only have 11 in the deck (and I just suggested cutting 2 of them). While I'm all about White Knight and Order A Lite Beer, I think you'd benefit from replacing a lot of that with creatures with less symbols in the mana cost, like Disciple of Grace, Death Speakers and/or Apostle of Purifying Light. And/or another Cemetery Gate. And then maybe a one-of Blood Baron of Vizkopa to round it out. In total, I'd suggest having north of 15 creatures.

Additionally, I would cut Ephara's Radiance, and either bring Disenchant down to 2x or cut it entirely and instead run 2x Vindicate.

And finally, consider changing your land base to include less lands that only produce white mana (i.e. less Plains). Since it's a casual deck, you could include Tainted Field, but also Isolated Chapel. 4x of each could replace all 8 Plains. Then, I'd replace the Caves of Koilos, one of the Swamp and the Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth with 4x Godless Shrine. If you made all of those changes, all of your lands would produce black mana, and 15 of them would produce white.

Again, that's a lot of changes. Please take them all as simply suggestions. I really love Pestilence decks, if you haven't noticed, haha...

Cheers!

The "Island" in Eagle of the Watch i've find a place named "One-Eyed Pass" in described like this: "This outpost has been carefully chosen by the Stratians for a particular reason: the abundance of cyclopes. They funnel their enemies into the pass, using the cyclopes who aggressively defend their territory as a gauntlet of certain death."

I also want to use Unravel the Aether, in the same guide there a place named Pharagax Bridge "The Stratians defend this huge stone bridge with all their might against any who would enter Akros without the king's permission. Some claim that the massive chasm it spans leads to the Underworld, and that foul creatures emerge from its depths."

What do you think about my two hypothesis ?

I also want to show Purphoros's sacred peak thi placed is in the flavor text of Magma Spray and i think this peak is the art of Peak Eruption

I don't know where are located there:

-Mana Confluence

-Astral Cornucopia

-Voyaging Satyr

-Ephara's Radiance Meletis Temple of Ephara ?

-Rollick of Abandon

-Plea for Guidance

I will have at least one location for these gods: Helios, Nylea, Karametra, Iroas, Keranos, Kruphix

I could not find artwork for the cities of Odunos and Asphodel... I will use Black Oak of Odunos but i can't find official artwork for th cities.

It's the same for Phoberos and Oreskos...

Thanks for your help ! =)

I've several other change i want to make/card easier to add, i will list every change for the v2, if you have ideas for other location i'm open to suggestion ^^

Check out my new deck for some ideas. It's Bant, not Orzhov, but it is a Pillowfort Battlecruiser that could easily include Exquisite Blood for the infinite combo. There's actually a number of ways my Bant deck could be changed to include an infinite creature beatdown combo. Right now though it just deals chunks of damage with Sanguine Bond, Rhox Faithmender, and Ephara's Radiance. Anyways, here's the link, let me know what you think:

Decks looks fine, but... Isn't it would be stronger if there was more cards that generates more life gain triggers?
For example, Marble Chalice, Ephara's Radiance, Silent Attendant and many other cards make only 1 life gain trigger in a circle (from your turn to your next turn).
But cards like Royal Herbalist, Leonin Elder or Confessor would generate much more. There is also better to rid off augmenting cards like Ethereal Armor. Because it easier to gain life 3-4 times, then to attack with a creature and deal damage (still only to one opponent).

Well, in my opinion, there is better way to change whole tactics. More lifelink augments + creatures with more then one trigger in a circle would be more effectively.
Fencing Ace or Cuombajj Witches + Squire's Devotion can heal you twice each turn. There is also a way to add two triggers in a circle to make tokens Queen's Commission and protect them with evasion or enchantments like Lumithread Field or Parapet

Ah, another MTGGoldfish follower!

I would cut the Ephara's Radiances and possibly the Mana Tithes for maybe another Phyrexian Unlife, a Thoughtseize or two, perhaps a couple of Aven Mindcensors, and then something like Emerge Unscathed instead of the Faith's Shields. This seems like a fun deck idea, but it's rather reliant on you being on the play, and I'm not sure how competitive this deck can actually be. Best of luck to you, though!

So, I have a few ideas we could hash out for this deck, and I included a bunch of cards that I'll just give you, as well as a few cards you should pick up and plan to use, regardless. We can sit down and actually hash this out together if you'd like, or you can wing it and develop something on your own. Either way, I'm stoked you're getting so into this!
