Sprouting Renewal

Sorcery

Convoke (Your creatures can help cast this spell. Each creature you tap while casting this spell pays for or one mana of that creature's colour.)

Choose one —

  • Create a 2/2 green and white Elf Knight creature token with vigilance.
  • Destroy target artifact or enchantment.

Darb_the_Bard on A fistful of Myr [Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch]

My favorite part of Urtet is untapping all the Myrs and finding ways to take advantage of that. To that end, I think Improvise is a great mechanic in this deck (Kappa Cannoneer and Organic Extinction are great examples already in the decklist). Since the artifacts are also creatures, Convoke can be similarly powerful. Both are even more powerful in your list since you are also running cards like Drumbellower and Unwinding Clock.

I mentioned some good Improvise cards in a previous comment, but here are some more fun possibilities:

  • Whir of Invention - 3 blue pips is tough, but perhaps worth it if leaning into blue and you like tutors
  • Saheeli's Directive - 3 red pips this time, but perhaps the upside is worth it?
  • Battle at the Bridge - likely just one black mana to get rid of a creature, even if it has indestructible

And here are some possible Convoke cards:

  • Obelisk of Urd - often "free" while pumping all your Myrs, which can still untap after the Convoke and attack with the pump that same turn thanks to Urtet
  • Return to the Ranks - get back a bunch of 2-mana creatures (I would likely want to pack a few more in the deck to make it worth it, but something to consider)
  • Endless Obedience - recursion from anyone's graveyard
  • Unmake the Graves - more recursion
  • Ephemeral Shields - protection for Urtet
  • Overwhelm - the creatures you tap for the Convoke will get the buff and can still attack thanks to Urtet
  • Lethal Scheme - destroy a creature or planeswalker while improving your hand with Connive
  • Mob - cheap creature removal
  • Sundering Vitae - cheap artifact/enchantment removal
  • Sprouting Renewal - more cheap artifact/enchantment removal (maybe you want the token sometimes?)
  • Venerated Loxodon - a 4/4 body that gives a +1/+1 counter to every creature that Convokes it; seems especially decent since you are also running cards like Hardened Scales and Doubling Season

I'd cut Hunting Triad , Llanowar Scout , Sprouting Renewal , Blunt the Assault , Defend the Hearth , Fog , Pause for Reflection , and Root Snare fogs aren't as good as you think. It just buys you a turn without dealing with any threats

This looks great but for enhancement removal you could add Sprouting Renewal , Broken Bond , or Crushing Canopy . The one problem I can see other than Ixalan's Binding is how to deal with wraths. I think that Disdainful Stroke would be good here but Negate also works.

I love the idea and I have a competitive similar deck, but I just feel this is very inconsistent, too many parts, I would cut Llanowar Elves with a mostly white deck you need a forest to play it and then after that it can only give you a forest. I would also cut Sprouting Renewal any token deck need a 4 of for Saproling Migration. Personally I would also cut Dawn of Hope i understand it is for draw and to get more tokens but its pricey to get the tokens and the 2 man cost to draw a card is a lot also, Mentor of the Meek would do almost the same think for less mana, Finally i would think of cutting Fountain of Renewal the life gain is great but you should be making a lot of lifelink soldiers so you don’t really need that life gain. Overall i think they deck is trying to be 2 things a life gain deck and a token deck and you should try to make it more consistent.

I would add more Legion's Landing  Flip this is the best turn 1 play you can have.

Add another Venerated Loxodon great card when doing tokens, it will pump them and can be played turn 2 or 3 with he right draws

1 more Emmara, Soul of the Accord just to add consistency and then also do 4 Conclave Tribunal instead of the 2 Ixalan's Binding which is a great card but tribunals will tap Emmara more often.

Here are my comments if you want you can also look at my deck, it has done well in competitions so far Selesnya Angel Tokens

As always these are just my thoughts I have not played the deck but I wish you luck.

Any thoughts on sideboard Reclamation Sage vs Sprouting Renewal? I'm particularly thinking about opponents' Ixalan's Binding, Conclave Tribunal, and Experimental Frenzy. Rec Sage will answer those when I bring it in. In the case of Experimental Frenzy, I may not see one after siding in the enchantment removal so having a 2/2 vigilant body as an option is nice. The deck is running some maindeck removal in the form of 2x Vivien Reid.

First off, thanks again bruv. Glad you like it. Thing is dumb, strong, and just plain old fun to pilot.

I actually considered path mb, as bigger boys means easier crewage and stuff like that. It ended up not working too well overall, but wasnt useless. So I sb'd it to see if I could find something better. So far that's a no.

As for the mb Sprouting Renewal, I tested that as well. It was great as a tempo card and functioned well in its place. That said, that wasnt where I wanted this deck to go. I built a tempo version (the very first version) and it just wasnt fun. This thing doesnt really adhere to anything. It just does. And it's way more fun. I figured that renewal's overall value was nearly too good to pass up, so sb'd it, and its proven great in many a game.

I'm currently testing with weatherlight and sissay to see how well they work out.

First of all, good outrageous, it made me giggle just thinking about it

another thing i thought about was having Path of Discovery in the mainboard? I think there a bunch of decks around that are slow enough to make this work, plus the only thing that kill is it conclave tribunal, assassin's trophy, and holy nova. So i think it actually worth it. Because outside of Conqueror's Galleon  Flip you don't have alot of value, and your curve is pretty low to begin with. Also you should look at maybe swapping some things out for Sprouting Renewal, its a pretty good card for tempo purposes, and i think it fits well in the deck.
