predation We've actually found in playtesting that deciding when to play a Howling Mine is quite a balancing act :)

All else being equal, it's usually better to wait for your opponent to play theirs, since you can bounce it back to their hand, and of course they're the one spending the mana on it. Relic Barrier further reinforces this, since tapping down your own mine means neither player draws a card, while you can tap down theirs such that only they draw a card, making their mine a liability. The best way to use the mines seems to be as finishers once you have the tools to capitalise on it. The ideal turn 5 hand would be something like casting two mines, holding up a red mana for Runeflare Trap on the opponent's turn, dealing huge burst damage out of nowhere. You can get away with casting mines early in the game, but it's a risky play, not to mention that your mana could be spent on playing owls, or even drawing cards deliberately to dig for damage sources before your opponent can find them, since you'll be discarding to hand size anyway.

In sum, it actually tends to become a pretty tense game of chicken, with constant risk vs. reward evaluation on both sides. Waiting for the right time to put your mines on the board has definitely contributed to that :)

If you're dead set on Celestial Convergence, Axis of Mortality, Mirror Universe, or the much worse Soul Conduit are probably entirely essential to your gameplan. They are also searchable with your signature spell

Moat, Magus of the Moat, and Blazing Archon, Mystic Barrier and Ensnaring Bridge are also good ideas for your pillow fort. Ghostly Prison is nice, but these effects are always better when multiplied. Windborn Muse and Norn's Annex are also good ones.

Cosmic Intervention and similar spells are probably good ideas too.

Relic Barrier and Icy Manipulator are best friends with Winter Orb and Static Orb

Solemnity instakills

Ferropede?

Nyx-Fleece Ram is better than some of your walls, Daxos, Blessed by the Sun probably is too.

Dusk / Dawn is your best board wipe in my opinion. Also reanimates almost every card in your deck.

Renounce and Zuran Orb are good ideas to dodge mass removal or suddenly gain the life you need to win.

Add Reprieve. it is temporary, but it will allow you to dodge a counter, or you could use it to bounce your own about-to-be-countered spell back to your hand before the counter resolves.

Elixir of Immortality? might help against mill. not great though.

The One Ring costs life if you need it to draw, but pro everything is probably more than worth it, and the extra cards are likely to be as well.

Lodestone Golem, Cursed Totem, Sphere of Resistance, Chalice of the Void, Thorn of Amethyst, Trinisphere (the Totem does shut down Lord High Artificer just fyi)

Icy Manipulator, Relic Barrier, and Pacification Array can tap your orbs and spheres to make sure you aren't locked down by them as well (this is really only relevant if you aren't running Lord High Artificer as your commander).

Honestly I would do stax. You can use Winter Orb and Relic Barrier to make opponents only untap one land. Use other stax cards like Drannith Magistrate and Nevermore to make opponents not be able to cast their commander. Ghostly Prison , Aven Mindcensor , and Aura of Silence are good here as well. For more expensive cards use Opposition Agent , Hullbreacher and Static Orb . You can win with lifegain by using Felidar Sovereign or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Exquisite Blood . For a control wincon you could use Approach of the Second Sun .

If I have the Relic Barrier , Mindlock Orb and Maralen of the Mornsong on the battlefield. Can i tap my mindlock orb with relic barrier at the end of opponents turn allowing me to search my library before my draw step?

Mesmeric Orb and Basalt Monolith can let you fill your 'yard for Delirium by using the mana Monolith produces to just turn around and untap it over and over, and it would fit in your suite of stax artifacts quite well. Relic Barrier doesn't really seem to fit said suite, so I feel it would be a prime replacement.

Similarly, the tap/untap synergizes well with a lot of what you already have. That being said, something else to consider is Gaea's Blessing to add in a little bit of resilience and to allow you to regurgitate things back into your library by milling into it with Mesmeric Orb.

@ naturesnake420

I personally wouldn't run it in my Circu list as it does't help towards the win condition that I am going for. Discovery / Dispersal is a bit too weak for my liking, I rather use cards like Mission Briefing or Winds of Rebuke if I'm going that route as I can also use Isochron Scepter to copy it and reuse them.

Winter Orb + Relic Barrier are cool ways to go prison along with other effects like Static Orb and such, however it is an entirely different build your going for if planning to go towards that route. That is something akin towards a Prison Lantern Deck. I'm basing this one off of a Lantern Combo/Control. Hope that makes sense~

Oh for sure I see. Would you run Uba Mask in a Circu list? It seems like a powerful lock but also can undermine the draw go nature of the deck, although it is powerful with a Necropotence . Also what do you think about the new Discovery / Dispersal ? Also what are your thoughts on Winter Orb + Relic Barrier as a sort of weird mean prison combo.
