There are more efficient sac outlets than Eater of Hope

Quagmire Druid neat sac outlet.

You need a few spells that interact with Warped Devotion. Recoil was past tech.

wallisface Green is super-anti-flying, but cards with flying and a green ability keep being printed. Why is red first strike + green deathtouch a bend? As far as deathstrike goes, first strike is tertiary in black and a non-ability in green, and this only appears on Glissa, the Traitor and Glissa Sunslayer.

Daveslab2022 Would you consider cards like Recoil, Lightning Helix, the guild charms like Selesnya Charm, or Putrefy bad design, boring, or unintuitive? I understand that + =/= . I'm wondering why that's the case.

I completely understand that there's an active effort to prevent color pairs from feeling too samey, and in interest of completion, I feel obligated to say that Voracious Cobra exists. But I still have some questions.

Is there an absolute prohibition on red-green deathstrike? If so, what distinguishes red-green deathstrike from black-green flying/vigilance?

Is there simply too much overlap between 's dedicated removal and deathstrike?

With Ambush Viper, Ice-Fang Coatl, Winged Coatl, and Fleetfeather Cockatrice, is instant-speed creature spot removal more acceptable in than in ?

What makes Golgari Death Swarm a better creative choice than Warrant / Warden, and why did that get printed if it's an inferior choice?

Is there any potential for a card like Warp World or The Great Aurora to be made in ? Why or why not?

I have replaced Countersquall, Recoil, and Grim Affliction with Reject Imperfection, Serum Snare, and Staff of Compleation, which sadly reduced the prevalence of black in this deck, but I feel that those replacements are far superior compared to what I had, before.

I'm not a big fan of bounce removal, especially if you are in colors that support solid, more permanent removal spells. I wouldn't run either spell. I don't think I'd run Recoil either.

I have copies of Countersquall and Recoil in my Atraxa, Praetors' Voice EDH deck, but I am considering replacing those cards with Reject Imperfection and Serum Snare, since I feel that those latter cards better fit the theme of the deck. Regrettably, making those replacements would further diminish the prevalence of black in that deck, but that is an acceptable sacrifice for a more powerful and efficient deck.

What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Countersquall and Recoil with Reject Imperfection and Serum Snare?

I have replaced Voidslime with Endless Detour, because, as awesome as the former card is, the latter card simply has amazing versatility; I had considered replacing Recoil with Endless Detour, but that card is also very versatile, as well, so I kept it in the deck.

I'm going to interpret "good design" as "easy to understand, balanced while being useful, neither overpowered or underpowered" and advocate for a couple of commons I like. Recoil is simple, but effective removal and a good control option. Consume Strength is a solid combat trick. And of course, it has a close relative that may be the most balanced card ever designed in Giant Growth.

I'm going to second Recoil and add Temporal Spring (probably unlikely) and Contamination as a new art mythic rare (also probably unlikely).
