PhyrexianPraetor. Thanks for the upvote and the suggestions! I always welcome feedback! That is awesome that you are also a fan of devotion! This deck served me well back when it was legal in Standard, it almost won me a tournament, but I lost to a Jeskai Heroics deck. I have been trying to keep it competitive and add the new cards as they come if they are better. I have never seen the Heartlash Cinder until now, but it looks like it would fit the deck nicely! I could look at them as a replacement for Kari Zev, Skyship Raider perhaps?? It has been tough filling out the slots with so many options available. This is an aggro deck at heart tho, and haste and damage to the face are all that matters in this case!

As a long time fan of the devotion mechanic and by extension the chroma mechanic from eventide I like your deck.

Have you ever considered Heartlash Cinder? It’s strictly a one shot card, but it can do a lot of damage in a single hit. Works wonders with Leyline of Combustion.

Not criticizing your deck. Looks fun and functional.

LiveForChaos Great suggestions! I had looked at Burning-Tree Emissary before, but I was turned away originally by the fact that it adds one green mana in addition to the red mana but now that I think of it the green can go towards colorless costs, and if I run Emissary maybe that would be more incentive for me to play Manamorphose to mana-fix and hopefully get the draw power I want in this deck. Heartlash Cinder looks really good on the surface too, although I worry that it's susceptible to being bolted or chump blocked despite the high burst potential. I have considered Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon before as well, except they would hit my Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and kill my ramp combo. Regardless I'm going test these out and thank you for the suggestions.

cards to consider are Keldon Marauders, Spark Elemental, Mogg War Marshal, Heartlash Cinder, and Temur Battle Rage to some extent. Stingscourger is a good answer SB card to things you can't normally deal with or if you have to present tempo against Anglers and Devestators, and Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast for obvious reasons, but can understand getting those on mtgo sometimes.

So ou appear to be going for red/green landfall.

First of all, as a general rule, you shouldn't have more than two of a single legendary permanent in your deck. So that cuts one Mina and an Omnath. Second, can I recommend cutting Atarka, because you do not have any other dragons. Continuing with the landfall idea, maybe streamline more towards elementals, including cards like Satyr Nyx-Smith, Flamekin Bladewhirl, or Flamekin Harbinger for a tutor. I have a deck like this, except if focuses solely on abusing Omnath, Locus of Rage's abilities. My decklist is basically this;

Omnath, Locus of Rage x2

Flamekin Harbinger x4

Scourge of Skola Vale x3 --sacrifice is fun with Omnath

Generator Servant x3 -- Ramp

Pyretic Ritual x4 -- More Ramp

Heartlash Cinder x3 -- Later Game Push

Bloodbriar x2 -- Death Boosts

Rot Shambler x3 -- See Above

Explore x4 -- Ramp

Abundance x2 -- Land Search

Sylvan Scrying x3 -- Fetchland Search

Attune with Aether x3 -- Land Search

Blighted Woodland x3 -- double search

Evolving Wilds/Terramorphic Expanse x6 -- Cheap Fetchlands, can be replaced by more expensive ones if you want and don't have a budget

Myriad Landscape x4 -- Fun searching

Thawing Glaciers x3 -- and we thought the free search wasn't over yet :(

Kolaghan Stormsinger why.... everyone has haste already? kinda the same problem with Lightning Mauler if you don't pair him, He is not haste....??

Monastery Swiftspear currently your main deck only has 4x Bolts.... love this guy though, useless in here though.

Rakdos Shred-Freak ... Mardu Scout ...Hellrider ... (not sure if Hellrider fits "Budget", but should only be a couple bucks each) They also ALL work with the Heartlash Cinder .... "Red Symbol's"
