Garza's Assassin

Creature — Human Assassin

Sacrifice Garza's Assassin: Destroy target nonblack creature.

Recover-Pay half your life, rounded up. (When another creature is put into your graveyard from play, you may pay half your life, rounded up. If you do, return this card from your graveyard to your hand. Otherwise, remove this card from the game.)

I was thinking has access to a ton of humans that provide utility by sacrifice themselves
Some Examples:Cathar Commando,Priest of Fell Rites,General Kudro of Drannith,Plaguecrafter,Doomed Necromancer,Benevolent Bodyguard,Children of Korlis,Martyr of Sands,Bounty Agent,Garza's Assassin
There to many to list here but there is enough to continually feed Ramos and tormad engine creating 3/3 zombie tokens every turn while also keeping the board in check by recurring the utility

A good trick for getting more punch out of Gyrus is to run guys who have more power than their printed stats might indicate. For instance, Arcbound Overseer has 0 power when he's in the graveyard, but as soon as you return him, he's attacking for 6! Other examples include Clockwork Dragon, Drakestown Forgotten, Nighthowler, Sewer Nemesis, Thought Gorger, Ignition Team, Crovax the Cursed, Spike Hatcher, Naya Soulbeast and Workhorse. Your opponents will be surprised how often "2 or less" won't feel like it!

Other cards that fit your general strategy include Grenzo, Dungeon Warden and Unearth, which can return a lot of the same cards as Gyrus. You might also want more removal, such as Bone Shredder, Ravenous Baboons and Garza's Assassin. Good luck!

I think a life-oriented phoenix is the best option, Garza's Assassin is the most similar, but I think red can flavorfully spend life like that, also if a Phoenix costs life to come back, I think it makes sense that it has other life-related abilities:

Bloodflame Phoenix

Creature - Phoenix

Flying, Lifelink

, Pay half your life, rounded up: Return Bloodflame Phoenix from your graveyard to the battlefield. Activate this ability only during your upkeep.

3/3

I'd like to see another Phoenix, but neither a phoenix lord or a repeated method of return.

This is my kind of deck! I'd suggest to swap Garza's Assassin for Murderous Betrayal since an enchantment is a bit harder to destroy, and all your Swamps for Snow Swamps. This way, Extraplanar Lens doesn't give extra mana to other players that play Swamps (but no Snow Swamps). You could also add Hex Parasite just to pay life, or Vault Skirge for a little flying blocker (with lifelink!), Lashwrithe and/or Nightmare Lash to pay life and buff a creature. Other suggestions: Withering Boon Exsanguinate Pontiff of Blight Shauku, Endbringer Vampire Nighthawk Bond of Agony Killing Wave Phyrexian Reclamation Razaketh, the Foulblooded Strands of Night Boseiju, Who Shelters All Aetherflux Reservoir Torment of Hailfire Phyrexian Processor Well of Lost Dreams

Scarblade Elite is a card that is actually assassin tribal. You could try Nekrataal, Thrill-Kill Assassin, Silumgar Assassin, or Garza's Assassin.

I like the idea of assassin tribal. Nice job!

This looks really cool and I might try to get my playgroup to try it out.

Have you considered Garza's Assassin? Triple black would be hard to cast with little mana fixing and it has a huge cost to use again.

I'd consider cutting red entirely for a set of Sign in Blood/Night's Whisper, possibly still running martyr of sands, using black for cardraw to maintain the value of martyr. Although with all the token tools, an aristocrats package might work too.

I like the idea of making sisters super card advantagy and grindy. Something like Thoughtpicker Witch serving as a lock peice alongside some 1 drop spam and graveyard recursion perhaps, with ranger of eos keeping it running.

Still, I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with, black has some interesting tools like Plunge into Darkness, Arguel's Blood Fast  Flip, Athreos, God of Passage, Garza's Assassin and Profane Command.
