Ethercaste Knight

Artifact Creature — Human Knight

Exalted (Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)

Thank you for the ideas.

I have some of the Kor Outfitter - I had already been thinking to swap out the Ethercaste. I liked them because they were another artifact creature like the Esper Sentinel and could be immune to both Archmage's Charm and Wrenn and Six, and I'm not really a fan of the Esper Sentinel anyway.

I had been contemplating dropping either the Ethercaste Knight or Esper Sentinel and adding in the Kor Outfitter.

I'll think on the Godsend and also Argentum Armor also. 3 games last night I was left with an Argentum Armor in my hand that I never played.

Did some playtesting - with the right start this is really strong! Couple of things I'd say, is that Silkbind Faerie really didn't add anything - I'd reckon Somnomancer would likely make a better include, or maybe even Plumes of Peace. While Ethercaste Knight was nice, it wasn't all that impressive - Bant Sureblade might be a better inclusion. A couple of Deputy of Acquittals would be handy, too, and Galina's Knight would make a neat sideboard card. I also reckon you'd benefit from one or two Secluded Steppes.

Neat deck!

I love the enchantment focus on Rafiq! i have a rafiq deck that is about half equipment and half auras.

Crawlspace and Silent Arbiter are great adds, and just gives redundancy to effects like the Dueling Grounds you already have.

Cathedral of War is exalted on a land!

Bear Umbra was recently reprinted in the Adaptive Enchantment deck for Commander 18, and is really good, even at its price tag. Spirit Mantle give pro creatures, making him unblockable.

Ethercaste Knight is a 2 cmc exalted creature, helps get rafiq buffed a bit quicker.

I would look at adding more dorks like Avacyn's Pilgrim for ramp and helps give value to Sublime Archangel and/or more rocks. Adding a few draw spells as well, like Brainstorm/Anticipate and Harmonize/Concentrate are great for refilling your hand, or sifting through your deck a bit. Sage's Reverie and Snake Umbra help buff rafiq, as well as draw! (snake umbra will give 2 draws when attacking alone and is unblocked! woo double strike!)

im sure youll get this comment, but Prophet of Kruphix is banned in edh, so just be aware if you try to bring it to an LGS.

Good luck smashing face!

ill get a friend of me to take a look at this deck. He plays Rafiq of the Many.

But my cuts would be cards like Akrasan Squire, Ethercaste Knight, Guardians of Akrasa. Cards with no build in evasion.

and maybe a Selfless Spirit if its okay for ur budget.

I was sort of thinking it might have been too much.

I made a W/U exalted deck for this.

2 islands and 2 plains.

1 of Akrasan Squire, Aven Squire, Ethercaste Knight, Triton Shorestalker, Oppressive Rays, and Distortion Strike.

What do you think of it?

Sweet idea for the deck. (+1 from me)

But, like our coleague up there said, the problem with auras is they are "Bolt callers". Do exist more multi-colored creatures in esper/azorius (like Ethercaste Knight or Deputy of Acquittals) that could replace the auras? Because following the creature+aura theme, the deck become a worst Bogles. The multicolored sinergy thats nice. A nice card that can help protect your creatures and 'turn around' the 2 for 1 effect is Hindering Light.

Selesnya Charm, Simic Charm mer, please no. Sphinx's Revelation bit wonderful late game ending spell to pull ahead of everyone else, I just don't think it belongs in this deck. Armadillo Cloak your spots for enchantments in this deck are hella tight, i don't think this one can make the cut. When looking at equipment i think Conqueror's Flail (We don't play a lot of blue, and i think people would just use removal off turn or inresponse to the cast.) Behemoth Sledge seems like the weakest out of all of the equipment, maybe drop it. Sovereigns of Lost Alara i tihnk if you had some bombs it would work wonders, but you dont. Stoic Angel seems a bit out of left field, i dont think it fits. Aven Squire, Ethercaste Knight, Giltspire Avenger, Knight of Glory, Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith, Sigarda, Heron's Grace, Silent Arbiter. o boy, i just dont really like these cards all that much maybe look at dropping some of them for the last cards.

For a voltron deck, you have many creatures, a fair amount are sub-optimal. Using creatures that have exalted, or exalted + some useless ability is detrimental for what you are probably aiming for. These are the biggest offenders: Akrasan Squire Aven Squire Dawnray Archer, Ethercaste Knight Frontline Sage, Guardians of Akrasa, Outrider of Jhess, Rhox Bodyguard Rhox Charger, 3 three "sigiled" creatures, and Waveskimmer Aven. That is 13 creatures. You will want more interaction with-- and defense against-- your opponent(s). Swords to Plowshares, Krosan Grip, Aura Shards, Dispel, Stifle, and Rootborn Defenses are all cards to consider. For buffing rafiq, Berserk is a near must, the sword of x&y cycle (however many you can get), and the Sovereigns of Lost Alara+Eldrazi Conscription are also near musts.
