Some thoughts that immediately come to mind:

• A way of getting even more creatures as Braids fodder is Bitterblossom. I highly recommend it. You may also consider rejiggering the land base to make Field of the Dead worthwhile: you have enough lands to make it work, but more options to make it more feasible may not be a bad idea. You could also use things like Reassembling Skeleton to feed Braids even more.
• I know a lot of people don't like tutors, but tutors here can be quite handy. Vampiric Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Beseech the Queen, and Diabolic Intent are all possibly worthwhile. You could also consider some deck-thinning lands like Prismatic Vista and Fabled Passage.
• Mana-rock-wise, Mox Amber might be worthwhile.
• I vote Contamination for any mono-black deck. It's a great way to lose friends (which might be the point).

No Reassembling Skeleton? What about something like Sengir Autocrat, make a bunch of bodies to generate maximum triggers? Gixian Puppeteer seems like a good fit. I feel like Dreadhorde Invasion might be good with your Commander, as long as you sacrifice the token you get a fresh one on your upkeep, this is a relatively affordable alternative to Bitterblossom. If you like the Underworld Dreams effect, perhaps Fate Unraveler, though it's not exactly budget at this point and will surely go down in price if it sees reprint, so maybe keep an eye on it? I feel like your deck would benefit from anything that prevents life gain, stuff like Grima Wormtongue and/or Knight of Dusk's Shadow might keep opponents from running away from your damage/life loss effects, and Plague Drone actually punishes opponents for trying to gain life.

Profet93 fantastic, thanks so much! I'll let those suggestions ferment in my mind for a bit, my next cards shopping spree is coming up.

This goes to show you my ability to spot combos, I had that full Blood Artist + Reassembling Skeleton + Carnival of Souls + Ashnod's Altar combo in the deck! I took out Blood Artist because, as well as she fits in the way the deck plays, I wanted it to be more demon focused. The deck has always had some non-demons in there, maybe I should reconsider putting her in there. That's the case in all my tribal decks, I do my best to be strict about the tribe unless I can justify breaking it thematically (in my Rakdos the Defiler deck, there are devils and tieflings that serve the demons, so they're allowed).

Sure thing! Bloodchief Ascension & Mindcrank create an infinite mill and damage cycle.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed & Triskelion create an infinite damage cycle where you remove counters from him to do 1 damage to a player & the rest to kill himself. Then he is returned to the battlefield and you repeat. This also works with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed & Walking Ballista, but he needs a third card like Zulaport Cutthroat or Blood Artist to create the infinite cycle of damage/life gain. If you can’t get one of those two cards, Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos will create infinite sacrifice cycles. Then you could also create infinite Eldrazi tokens/treasures with either Pitiless Plunderer or Pawn of Ulamog.

Next is the Ashnods alter & Pitiless Plunderer combos with either Bloodsoaked Champion or Reassembling Skeleton that can infinitely sacrifice to create infinite colorless mana for cards like Exsanguinate.

Finally if you have Sensei's Divining Top, Bolas's Citadel, & Sheoldred, the Apocalypse you can draw a card with Sensei’s, gain 2 life, then pay 1 life to cast Sensei’s, and repeat until you can find a combo while gaining life with each draw.

What is the purpose of Prismite and similar cards?

Infernal Darkness - Similar to contamination

Karn, the Great Creator - One sided null rod, excellent synergy with contamination and the above. It can also animate their artifacts to you destroy them.

Regarding your draw, perhaps a Skullclamp to go with all your death and 1/1 creatures?

At the risk of being not impactful enough, Reassembling Skeleton for continuous fodder and synergy with contamination?

Pretty good list. I'm surprised you don't run more draw. Necropotence is powerful and has amazing synergy with possessed portal because you don't actually draw cards, is that why it isn't in the "Draw" section? Phyrexian Arena > Dark tutelage. Assuming possessed portal isn't in play, this is an upgrade.

I like the use of fetchlands with crucible. It appears there are budget considerations of the deck not mentioned in the description? Assuming I'm wrong, then perhaps consider fetchlands and Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth package. Can't forget Chains of Mephistopheles given you're not drawing a bunch and it fits into the discard theme.

Why is Altar of Dementia in the tutor section, am I missing something?

Vampiric Tutor, Grim Tutor and Imperial Seal are all helpful tutors.

Perhaps a Bitterblossom or a Reassembling Skeleton for contamination and to break parity on your control/stax effects.

What is the purpose of Voltaic Key? I am unsure if you run enough artifacts for inspiring statuary, how has that been playing for you?
