Thanks for checking out my decks as of recent, Profet93 I appreciate it. This is my second go at trying out a Lands strategy. Zimone and Dina were pretty interesting, but they felt like they were being pulled in a couple of different directions.
Since this deck is fairly new, I haven't had a chance to try it here yet. I used to run Insidious Dreams in my old Alesha, Who Smiles at Death deck. I liked it the times I played it there, but felt it was kinda clunky at 4 cmc, especially for a Mardu deck. I figured the mana cost wouldn't be as big of a deal in a deck with Green in it lol. I'm also playing it here because my one copy of Demonic Tutor is currently in my Burakos deck. I also figured I'd (ideally) be pitching Lands to the Discard requirement. If it under performs, It'll be one of my first swaps out.
-
Petrified Field seems interesting. I agree that I'd want to limit the number of colorless mana producing lands I run, but could swap it for one of the others already in the deck.
-
Lol I picked up a copy of Natural Affinity during one of my ordering batches. I'm sure that I'll give it a shot at some point.
-
As for the Shamanic Revelation, I currently have about 6 creature token production effects in the 99. Still getting a feel for how consistently I can draw into at least one. In terms of a similarly costed draw effect, I was considering Stinging Study. 5 for always 5 seems decent.

legendofa, thank you for the suggestions! I might even have an Insidious Dreams. I will check.
For me, I think the biggest issue is what to do when I stall out. If I get not quite enough Shadowborn. I might have to bite the bullet and buy a Black Market Connections. That one seems excellent for what this deck wants!

How about something like Restless Dreams, Insidious Dreams, or Black Market Connections to help clear Demon clogs? Those would help find Shadowborn Apostles as needed (or make Changelings to fill in for them). Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar is a strong draw engine by itself, but these options can help give it gas for the engine.
For staying power, what's the core issue? Creatures too small, not enough recursion, board wipe susceptibility?

Thank you for your time looking at the list and input! This list has been experimental for a while but its finally getting to play in public and some of your suggestions are going to be added in! I understand the lack of spells for the scepter might make that card look like a dud, but thats why the list has tutors to grab the right spell depending on the situation. The list is convoluted with multiple different lines to take. It's designed like that so it wont play out the same way each game. Sometimes its a turn 3/4 win other times its a messy hour and a half long game. Yes, Head Games is nuts!!! Especially with recursion, everyone gets a meme hand!! Suggesting Opposition Agent will be useful and in some cases, SPICY! Since this list does not revolve around Shadowborn Apostles anymore, Infernal Darkness looks like the right replacement. (Although everyone at one card shop HATES that effect) Playing with more control might be the best route to take since this list gets a lot of threat. Adding Karn, the Great Creator 100% and with some cheaper kill spells that would slow the table down for enough time to assemble the right pieces to have more time to win.
1) Insidious Dreams is not usually cast unless you have citadel on the field. It's a spell that you wouldnt cast if you suspected someone would counter it.
2) Sacrifice works effectively when Razaketh, the Foulblooded or Rune-Scarred Demon are out for extra mana to cast the high cmc spells you tutored with them.
3) Warlock Class is used for it's loss of life effect to start the Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood combo for 1 mana. The second reason it's in the list is the level 3 effect that mimics wound reflection, and would kill any player that pays half their life to counter Temporal Extortion.
4) Darkness is useful against some friends' lists that dish out a lot of damage. The spell can be recurred with Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed's ability but can also be put on the scepter.
From your suggestions: Karn, the Great Creator, Imp's Mischief, Syphon Mind, Opposition Agent, Mana Vault, Read the Bones, Sign in Blood, Peer into the Abyss, and Dauthi Voidwalker all seem to be good cards to add. Might consider moving Sensei's Divining Top from another list into this one for better card draw and also Skullclamp might make a return.

About blue:
- Very few blue control players, that's why I avoid the "gotcha" cards. There is a lot of green decks though, so I raised the number of boardwipes.
About Insidious Dreams:
- A huge part of what makes it great is the fact it is an instant. Also, placing cards at the top benefits Bolas's Citadel, which is a win condition.
About Infernal Darkness:
- Last time I tried, I attracted hate from the entire table without advancing my boardstate that much due to the upkeep cost. Sadly, mana rocks circumvent the stax too.
About Alhammarret's Archive:
- Besides being expensive and winmore, it has the potential to be 5 mana "do nothing" card.
About 2 cmc mana rocks:
- Adding some back in the next update. I thought I could simply add more tutors and fetch for big mana, like Nykthos, but it's not working well...
About graveyard recursion:
- Deliver Unto Evil and Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed are promising! I'll see if they can replace some tutors with them.

Hello SufferFromEDHD and Profet93, thank you for the comments!
I have tried some of suggested cards, maybe it's worth to share the insights:
-
Black has limited lifegain sources that don't depend on sacrifice (eg.: Zulaport Cutthroat), so I compensate it by adding many tutors that search for Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Making Gary the backbone of the deck is, of course, risky;
-
Speaking of tutors, Insidious Dreams is horrible for X=1, great for X=2, and usually means "I WIN" for X=3, as it fetches Bolas's Citadel, Sensei's Divining Top and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, plus acts as a discard outlet when needed;
-
I don't focus on sacrifice-based strategies as they naturally decrease devotion, which makes Erebos and Gary less effective. It is also the reason I don't add colorless mass destruction to deal with enchantments: I need my own enchantments to stay;
-
Gravestorm is great for devotion and has potential for an extra draw, but it usually backfires, as the opponents remove their best creatures from their graveyard, thus I lose targets for Animate Dead and others;
-
I avoid adding combos where the pieces are bad individually. For example, Rings of Brighthearth makes infinite mana, but is a dead card when the other pieces are not already there. Similarly, I have never had success with Contamination in practice;
-
Worst Fears is super fun but matchup dependent, I think it's risky to add cards with CMC > 6 that don't 100% help me win the game;
-
Profane Transfusion, Mirror Universe, Magus of the Mirror and Soul Conduit are all on my "to test" list, and some "gotcha" cards like Imp's Mischief, Darkness, Sudden Spoiling and Hellish Rebuke too.
Having said all that, in the next update I'll add more creatures and Whip of Erebos in this deck to have more blockers and lifegain. I'm having issues to deal with voltron decks where the commanders reaches high power before I'm able to turn Erebos into a creature.

Keeping budget in mind, here are some cheap recs for increased consistency:
Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff, Monologue Tax, Dark Tutelage, Archivist of Oghma, Deep Gnome Terramancer, Hoarding Broodlord, Hellkite Tyrant, Diabolic Intent, Diabolic Tutor, Gamble, & Insidious Dreams.
I have more, but I'll stop here unless you want me to keep going lol.
