Intro

Hello! Welcome to my primer on Yawgmoth, Thran Physician . I hope you enjoy it, and if you have any suggestions please feel free to say them!

Why Yawgmoth?

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is a solid 2/4 body for 2BB with Protection from Humans. His last ability allows you to pay BB and discard a card to Proliferate, but that isn't why we're building him. We want his second ability:

"Pay 1 life, Sacrifice another creature: Put a -1/-1 counter on up to one target creature and draw a card."

With this ablity we have a source of consistent card draw, removal, and combo potential!

Combo Lines

We have a few different combos in the deck, but let's start with the main one which we'll call an Undying Combo. For an Undying Combo we need a few things.

Undying Creature: Butcher Ghoul / Evernight Shade / Geralf's Messenger

We need one of these to repeatedly come back for infinite sacrifice loops. Geralf's Messenger is the best as it can be a win con in itself, but the other two do fine as well. For this to work we need to sacrifice an Undying Creature to Yawgmoth, Thran Physician , and then let it come back with a +1/+1 counter on it. Then, we must sacrifice another creature to cancel out the +1/+1 counter. For this we need a creature maker to loop and repeat this. Hence our next category!
