Taxes, Death, Extortion, and Pride

Modern Death and Taxes Mono-White

Kvothesixstring

Sideboard

Taxes may include: Eidolon of Rhetoric, Aven Mindcensor, Angel of Jubilation, and Blind Obedience.

In case you haven't seen a Death and Taxes deck before, here a little 'splanation.

Everything your opponent can do should Be severally limited. (Check the taxes cards above) If the creatures and enchantments on your side of the field can hurt your opponent's deck's synergy, then your deck is free to move a little slower, and it gives you a huge leg up if those annoying cards also pump your side of the field. (Angel of Jubilation)

Side effects may include, but are not limited to: DEATH.

The death part of this deck is slow, slower than most modern decks at least. The first idea is to get out some decent creatures and use Blind Obedience as a way to gain life while dealing damage. Then eventually the hope is to get out an Angel of Jubilation and a Divinity of Pride. The next turn your Evangel of Heliod will enter the field with a minimum 2 soldiers, but probably more around 10-15 soldiers. On the following turn, swing with what's wise (often that's everything you have except maybe your Banisher Priests and a Judge's Familiar) once your opponent has declared blockers or cast spells (which hopefully judge's familiar was able to deal with), play a copy of Dictate of Heliod. Your 2/2 soldier's (being pumped by your Angel of Jubilation) suddenly become 4/4's. The other option is to cast a Tenacity. With that much of a punch coming you may get Divinity of Pride's boost, making it an 8/8 for your next attack.

Sideboard is chalk-full of "anti" cards. Aegis of the Gods for burn decks.Tormod's Crypt for delve and returned decks.Rogue's Passage to get in a hit if the opponent is running some crazy defense. Some extra Angel of Jubilation to turn on for black decks.and more of what we already have in case we need to strengthen a certain arm of the IRS.

note: I'm not running Leonin Arbiter because it effects the player of the card as well.
