I love creating decks with creative constraints. Like building on a $10 budget. Or sticking to a heavy theme ("The Thing" 1982 Movie Deck). Luckily a lot of folks in my playgroup like doing the same, so we have a bunch of decks that are more or less balanced in power level. This time, I challenged the group to create a deck using only cards from their favourite block (back when sets were still released in blocks).

My favourite block at the time (and probably to this day?) is Tarkir. I don't know if it's the plethora of dragons or just the history of the plane, but it was loads of fun for me. It was also the first block that I played after taking a long hiatus of MtG, so that might factor in. It is a challenge though! Tarkir didn't have a ton of ramp or mana fixing, so I think whatever is in the 3 sets is present here.

There are a few cards I think I'd still like to get, like Deathmist Raptor . And now that I'm laying all the cards out digitally, it might be easier for me to see flaws and so make some swaps accordingly. I don't think much from this block is particularly pricey, so this might be a deck I foil up at some point, just to be a showcase piece.

If you have a block/set deck you've made, please leave a link in the comments below: I'd love to look at it! And as always, any suggestions for improvements are appreciated.
