Tevesh Szat seemed like an especially intimidating card and a fun choice for a commander. He has it all: rapid token generation, major card draw, two pluses and an ultimate that completely sabotages everyone else's game plan while recurring himself. He even has Partner, too! But then it begged the question - who to partner with Szat? His different features can be taken in many different directions and built on from there. But then it occurred to me: why bother with a "partner" at all? Tevesh Szat doesn't have partners, he has pawns.

In one of the most unequal partnerships since Archie Meets the Punisher, consider how Rograkh pairs with Tevesh Szat's +1.

and +1 Loyalty to draw three cards is substantially better than Ancestral Recall.

and +1 Loyalty to draw three cards is substantially better than any modern draw spell.

and +1 Loyalty to draw three cards is substantially better than Ancient Craving, which is often played.

Poor ol' Rograkh is actually just a draw spell that gives you access to red!

Since you're always free to slap Rograkh down at any time, he can be readily combined with all of the 'sacrifice' rituals such as Culling the Weak or Infernal Plunge to help hurry Tevesh Szat out. One-time ramp cards lead to card disadvantage, but Szat can provide the necessary card advantage to refill your hand. Its easy to get him out on turn three, but even a turn one appearance is possible with the right hand - Dark Ritual, Phyrexian Tower, Ancient Tomb and Jeweled Lotus are all a big help.

Rograkh's legendary nature also means that Mox Amber should basically always be online, even from turn one, and he can accompany a first-turn Curse of Opulence to get some swings in and ramp out some treasures on the second or third turn for free.

Rograkh is your fodder, and so he can be callously fed to Skullclamp or Shivan Harvest as needed. Eventually paying six+ mana for a 0/1 is kind of a drag, though, so you can get him back for cheap using Command Beacon. One freebie not good enough? Combine the Beacon with Crucible of Worlds and you can haul Rograkh back for free every turn!

Despite his disposable nature, though, Rograkh is a commander, so burning through him multiple times still ticks up the usefulness of Fury Storm and allows for you to readily recur Skyfire Phoenix - who doubles as excellent sac fodder for Szat and any number of other outlets, naturally.
