Light-Paws's Scarab Emporium

Commander / EDH Mono-White

r3spawnftw

Aura Enchantress Voltron. Put down auras and Light-Paws pulls out more auras.

Slow hands that can't hit commander damage quickly or efficiently will want to turtle out the game with protection pieces. Want to build up enchantments on the board until you can swing for lethal with Ethereal Armor, Sage's Reverie or All That Glitters and Battle Mastery. Failing that, pray you can hit some unholy combination of auras that just barely manages to push you past 21 commander.

Protection

A good amount of single target protection, but we don't have much in the way of mass removal.

  • Teferi's Protection and Guardian of Faith protect us from board wipes.

  • Mask of Law and Grace can search for Shield of Duty and Reason giving Light-Paws protection from four colors for one white mana. Crown of Awe is just Mask of Law and Grace, but more expensive. Flickerform gives on-demand exile that keeps our auras for four mana.

  • Benevolent Blessing can shore up our weakness to white removal, but it's non-detach clause only applies to auras that have been attached before it. If you plan to use it this way, make sure you're already set up.

  • Spectra Ward functions similarly, but is slightly more flexible. You won't be able to target Light-Paws with an aura, but if you can enchant something else, her trigger will still go off and you can attach the new aura to her.

  • Timely Ward, Shielded by Faith and Hyena Umbra to protect from destruction.

  • Flickering Ward, Pentarch Ward and Ward of Lights are primarily in here for their utility more than their protection.

  • Pariah and Saving Grace are there to protect us from other players, particularly from other voltron players. Ideally, pair them with some sort of indestructible or protection effect so Light-Paws isn't just sent straight to hell after taking a million to the face.

Removal

Not much removal or interaction. The CMC of this deck is very low to the ground and it wants to go fast and win before any really scary threats can come down. Eliminate high-risk players first and removal should be unnecessary. Swift Reconfiguration, Temporal Isolation and Swords to Plowshares are our options. Consider saving Swords for Light-Paws herself, in case she gets hit by any hard-to-remove lockdown. No commander means you're almost guaranteed a loss.
