Destructive Control

Modern Mono-Blue

Clutchrate

The goal of this deck is to delay your opponent from developing enough to get to the endgame, so that when you reach the endgame, you are able to overrun them and secure yourself a victory.

Useful Playing Information The goal of this deck is to draw get a start where is are able to have a blocker , such as Aegis Turtle , and defend yourself while you ramp up and place your islands while playing the artifacts like Spellbook . You should always deny your opponent key creatures or permanents that help them to their overall goal, hence is the theme of control. Always remember and do this during the game. Once you are in a position where you are up about 2-3 lands by using removal spells like Boomerang to take out opponent’s land or artifacts, and are in a comfortable position to take risks, you should have drawn Baral, Chief of Compliance and Barrin, Tolarian Archmage . If you are able to play this, you then start to draw as many cards as you can , by either card actions like Opt or through Barrin, Tolarian Archmage ability that when you remove permanents from your side, you draw a card. This creates a loop with Spellbook and Boomerang to draw cards if you have no cards specified on doing this. Now continue to disrupt your opponent a lot now because of Baral, Chief of Compliance ‘s ability to get one less mana on instant and sorcery spells ( has to be colorless , generic mana ) you should have many instant and sorcery spells in your graveyard. Now play all of the Brineborn Cutthroat you have and with their boosts from the instant and sorcery spells in the graveyard and support from deny spells and most importantly tapping spells like Downpour to tap potential blocking creatures, you should land a finishing blow to your opponent.
