This deck is based on WarHammer pre con, but taken to the extreme for Demon tribal.

As soon as I saw Be'Lakor, the Dark Master I just knew I HAD to have him as my commander. Having the ability to burn anything just by playing creatures is, in my opinion, an amazing ability. It completely negates the need for spot removal of creatures and almost nullifies the need for board wipes, almost. It rewards you for playing the biggest demons, which in of themselves are usually strong creatures anyways. But getting to burn ANYTHING based on their power? Maddeningly powerful.

I’ve done my best to have a mana curve of sorts comprised of demons/ spells to curve into Be’lakor and to then start getting burn triggers on each cast.

I removed Warstorm Surge that was initially in the pre con in favour of both Reflections of Littjara and Molten Echoes. The reason behind it is they are not only a cheaper version of it with the commander out, but they have the bonus of being able to do combat damage in addition.

I have added draw sources for the tribal theme, such as Vanquisher's Banner and Pact of the Serpent as ways to replace the demons you play. There’s also Be’lakor’s ETB as well. With all the life loss from abilities, I added in Whip of Erebos and Raphael, Fiendish Savior as ways to get some of that life back.

I just had to put Panharmonicon in as well. With all the ETB triggers it would seriously be foolish of me to exclude it.

The mana base is designed to thin the deck out, with 6 fetch lands in there. That way you’re getting the benefit of getting the mana you need whilst thinning your deck out to draw more demons. Mana Echoes seems like a great way to “ramp” almost to bigger demons, whilst also giving more value for lower CMC demons which may feel a tad redundant in the later game.

I’ve also curated demons for a bit of a graveyard interaction. Such as Doom Whisperer, Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos, Razaketh, the Foulblooded to self mill/ sac other creatures and spells like Whip of Erebos, The Cauldron of Eternity, Demon of Dark Schemes and Haunting Voyage to then pull them back out for both their abilities and Be’lakor’s ETB.

Board wipes seem rampant in this deck. My play group seems to run a few each so I decided to potentially use them all if need be haha. I thought it best to utilise Vandalblast and Cyclonic Rift, as they’re ways to remove otherwise pesky permanents that black usually struggles to effectively deal with. In total I have access to 7 creature board wipe options (However i am only running 4 in the list itself), ranging from -3/-3 all the way to chaos warping everyone’s entire board for more creatures.

I discovered that Prince of Thralls on the field and Lord Xander, the Collector entering with any doubling permanent effect can help you secure half of someone's board state unless they pay 3 life per permanent. It’s worse if you have both doubling cards out as it will get you all three hands to be discarded down and two board states sacced in half. And as if all that wasn’t bad enough, as long as you have Be’lakor out you get to fling all the damage from the Xanders that enter even if the legend rule removes them, potentially securing more permanents for them to pay life for and subsequently saccing their better permanents.
