Ive always used blue as a splash color, but never as the lead singer color in my decks. So when i started the 32 deck challenge, i wasnt looking forward to building a mono blue deck, mainly because i didnt know how blue functioned without the help of other colors. Another reason i wasnt looking forward to building a mono blue deck was due to not liking counters. Baral as an example, is very oppressive and not fun to play against, and i dont like bringing that type of negativity to the table. So when i saw Barrin spoiled, i knew i had my mono blue commander. He is not only a very cool magic character, but also not nearly as oppressive as Baral. Barrin doesnt necessarily say no, but more so says “not right now”. The objective is to find a combo of some sort. The big one is banishing knack, mirran spy, and artifact that costs 0 mana to cast. Plus other cards like altar of the brood or aetherflux reservoir become instant infinite combos. Anyway, i hope you enjoy the deck. Let me know what you think.
