My First Deck

I only got into magic about a week and a half ago, and picked up some cards from a card shop in addition to some (the cards from the portal expansion) that I have picked up over the years.

I've asked several friends for their thoughts and they've made suggestions that I haven't incorporated into this deck yet. I want your suggestions too.

I finally got a chance to playtest my deck as it stands right now, before implementing any of the suggestions I recieved. The biggest thing I noticed was that I had several cards that changed the order of cards that I drew, but not enough that would let me scry and put them at the bottom of my library. I think future changes will do that.

Additionally, I have a question for you reading this, something that I was a bit curious about. What is the purpose of a mana rock that produces only one mana, other than the fact that it's colorless. To me, I don't see them as something to be played unless you have excess mana to cover the cost each turn. Sol Ring I perfectly understand because it's 2 mana each turn for one cost. But I want to know why I would want Talisman of Creativity or Commander's Sphere when I could just cast a land for no cost in its place. I understand that those cards have some utility, but I do not see it as covering the cost of having to spend mana, when you could put a land in its space.

I absoutely appreaciate the help from those who commented, and with the help of Focus_Jim I would like to narrow my scope in to just taking others stuff, with the posibility of having deck-drawing combos in the form of Niv-Mizzet, Parun (or others) and Curiosity I don't want this to be the main theme of my deck, but I like the idea of having options.

I have had several cards suggested to me, and they will be put on the maybeboard if I don't think they should go in the deck. I am more than willing to hear other people's thoughts on them, of course.

I know that cost is somewhat something to keep in mind, so I want to give a heads up that I haven't looked at the costs of the cards on my maybeboard or ones that I just added. The important thing is getting the deck to a place I'm happy before I buy anything else.

Just to reiterate, I've made a handful of changes, added a ton of cards to the maybeboard, and I want to know what your thoughts are on what to keep and what to add. Thank you for the help so far, and I look forward to working with you to continue to strengthen my deck!
