Thoughts on Aetherflux Reservoir + Sydri, Galvanic Genius ? Both are usable in other ways and it is among my top favorite combos in the entire game.

Aetherflux Reservoir + Sydri, Galvanic Genius (When you have 50+ life, make Aetherflux Reservoir as creature with Sydri, Galvanic Genius and also use her second ability to have Aetherflux Reservoir deathtouch and lifelink. Then, pay 50 life, lifelink 50 damage. Repeat the Aetherflux Reservoir ability.)

My top priorities from the Maybeboard to get into the deck are:

Aetherflux Reservoir, Mycosynth Lattice, Ashnod's Altar, Orbs of Warding, Scrap Mastery, Goblin Welder, and Tamiyo's Journal.

So far the cards marked for replacement are those in the Equipment Matters category. As I've been going through the deck this sub-theme of equipment matters has appeared and I don't feel that it will be relevant enough to the recursion and combo route I want to take. Despite that, there are a few equipment cards which do help with recursion and combo so those have a better chance of staying.

Cards which appear only in the Combat category may also be considered for replacement. I see them being replaced with artifacts which work to slow down combat or act in other defensive ways.

I also don't really like how slow Curse of Vengeance is. It earns the ire of the enchanted player and I am trying to avoid attention like that.

Zur is an instant KoS commander that will undoubtedly draw the ire of the table. I have seen a budget-ish deck or two that might work. It's the land base that I fear the most, $$ wise.

GoldenDiggle: Black does replace the green draw that is missing but black also has way more of it (Necropotence, Dark Prophecy, Phyrexian Arena ect. ect.). What black doesn't offer is ramp which you have in spades in green. Daxos would love him some green.

greyninja: If I was doing Esper enchantments I'd probably fall back on Oloro simply because he does well in a pillowfort setting. Though I already have a life gain matters deck with Karlov (well, life gain triggers, not how much par se). But seeing as I'v already built and torn apart Oloro twice now I don't have it in me to run Esper just yet (although Aetherflux Reservoir + Sydri, Galvanic Genius does have me wondering....).

I wasn't looking for a top tier commander necessarily as I just rebuilt Brago. Aside from him I have a couple T2/T3 generals (although my Purphoros deck I'd say is pretty nasty). A good mix.
