The most effective lifegain decks I see are ones that can gain a lot of life, but also can stack a lot of lifegain triggers with soul sisters and make big beaters like Voice of the Blessed to have a somewhat okay aggro plan, its just unfortunate that a lifegain deck can never be super competitive since it was my favorite mechanic when I started playing magic. Unless its in a more D&T shell, there are just so many decks that don't care about lifegain (pretty much any control, combo, midrange, or tempo deck).

Thanks mate, i actually had True Conviction in here, but i cut it out for cheaper cmc Voice of the Blessed. I think i have enough lifegain-events in here to get Archangel of Thune out of control without the need of Conviction....but still it is a super strong card - it simply doesnt synergyses with one of the key card Springjack Shepherd...I have to think about it..

• Six red sources is awfully low number to reliably draw any in a game. You need to play more
• Voice of the Blessed is strictly better than Ajani's Pridemate. You just have to fix the mana base to reliably have double white and a single red in each game.
• You don't have to play 3 Norin the Wary. The are legendary, so extra copy is useless. You can search for them Ranger-Captain of Eos, and in case of losing one, you can return it to play with Abiding Grace.
• 1 Daxos, Blessed by the Sun may be usefull

IHATENAMES on Angelic Spiritual Soul Sisters

A few things.

1st off. I think a soul sisters deck and angel deck are not compatible. Soul sisters make and want as many lifegain triggers as possible. Maximizing cards like Voice of the Blessed . Angels i believe want to maintain x life above your starting life and gain in chunks of 5 for probably the best angel Resplendent Angel. These seem simular but that creates tough choices in deck design.

Book of Exalted Deeds with creature lands is a combo with Mutavault some decks just can't beat this.

I think you want the card draw off of Shelter but I personally think that card sux. You would likely be better with a green splash for just Collected Company or run a cheaper protection spell like Brave the Elements or a better card draw engine Welcoming Vampire perhaps.

Speaker of the Heavens is a suprise op card i have a angel deck on mtga for historic and it is a great agro card angels needed.

You are light in 1 key piece of any deck. Interaction.

March of Otherworldly Light is a favorite of mine.

Path to Exile could be decent

Dawn Charm niche counterspell/ protect a creature

Surge of Salvation protection vs opposing aggro

I'd suggest looking at another decks sideboard to help build a better one Check out decks like modern d&t or soul sister or angels and see what you want. But be sure to cover a few things.

Graveyard hate like Soul-Guide Lantern Something to fight control many different approachesCavern of Souls Thalia, Guardian of Thraben Artifact/enchantment hate Disenchant

And something for decks that you think you need more help with and expect to face. Perhaps a boardwipe for decks that go wide Doomskar or any other archetype/problem that needs fixing.

I actually just made an Amalia Combo deck recently here, focusing more on lifegain rather than explore.

Have you considered Voice of the Blessed or Heliod, Sun-Crowned, as they both will survive Amalias nuke. Requires more lifegain for them to work properly but I think still an ok choice in this deck

Hi All,

I want to build an Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper // Tymna the Weaver life gain commander deck. It will be used for semi-casual play at a LGS, so good players with decent decks but not a lot of bonkers combos going off by turn 5.

I have never been amazing a cooking up commander decks that actually function, especially on a budget. Can anyone help me put together a basic/affordable decklist that I can expand on with more expensive cards later (let's say sub $200, preferably closer to $100, price is a little flexible)?

So far, I have the following cards that I know will work here:

Deathrite Shaman Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose Swords to Plowshares Dina, Soul Steeper Voice of the Blessed Kambal, Consul of Allocation Willowdusk, Essence Seer Vampire Nighthawk Drana and Linvala Rodolf Duskbringer Rampant Growth Farseek

I also own both commanders, so that's $30 I don't need to worry about.

Any help is appreciated.
