It works on replicate, but not the way you are wanting it to. Replicate is an additional cost. When determining how much mana you need to pay you apply all additional costs, then apply reductions, then anything that sets a mana cost. So what you would do is add the replicate cost for how many times you want to replicate it and then deduct Vadrik, Astral Archmage's power.

This means that if Vadrik had 6 power you could cast Brass's Bounty for and each replicate would add and you would have to pay the entire thing. If instead you were casting Vacuumelt the original would cost after the reductions and you could replicate twice by only having to pay an extra since you had cost reduction left. After that you would have used up the entire reduction and have to pay per replicate.

Spook9MM on How many drake tokens hit …

Talrand, Sky Summoner on field, and I cast something with replicate, such as Vacuumelt . Do I just get the 1 drake token for the spell, or do I also get them for the copies using the replicate mechanic? Since the wording just says copy, and not "cast a copy", I am guessing only 1 drake, regardless of how many times I replicate. Am I correct?

However, if you're looking for a similar trick, look for cards with a "when you cast" trigger.

Like casting Vacuumelt and paying the replicate cost a few times, then casting Unsubstantiate on the original spell, return it to your hand, and then do it again next turn.

i ran a bunch in my Sen Triplets edh deck. Boomerang, Snap, Unsummon, Vapor Snag, Voyage's End, Crystal Shard, Whelming Wave, Cyclonic Rift, Vacuumelt, Disperse, Dramatic Rescue, Eye of Nowhere, Into the Roil, Remand, Rushing River, Void Snare, Wipe Away, etc.

obviously it's overkill, but with Sen Triplets you can play spells from opponent's hands so i wanted their stuff to be bounced constantly. bounce something on their turn, then play it on mine! honestly the coolest was Snap with Isochron Scepter
