Staunch-Hearted Warrior

Creature — Human Warrior

Heroic — Whenever you cast a spell that targets Staunch-Hearted Warrior, put two +1/+1 counters on Staunch-Hearted Warrior.

You should think about using Hidden Strings in this Deck. It targets a creature so you tap that creature, say its Staunch-Hearted Warrior Thats 2 +1 +1 Counters then you cipher it to your creature. every time you hit your foe you just added a +1 +1 counter and made your creature basically have vigilance and you can untap a land or target another creature for some more heroic fun.

Looking in to the list and what I can see there is a good 3 and 4 drop in green that give themselves two counters Setessan Oathsworn , Staunch-Hearted Warrior and a five drop but that is up to you Pheres-Band Thunderhoof but what do you think

I would recommend cards like Centaur Battlemaster and Staunch-Hearted Warrior plus some buff cards like Dragonscale Boon or Incremental Growth. Basically, you should add green

Almost all your cards are 2-CMC. You should try to even out the curve a bit.

The creature base can be cleaner. Definitely cut expensive cards such as Staunch-Hearted Warrior and Pheres-Band Thunderhoof. You should run playsets of efficient Heroic creatures. You already have some but some others that you might have missed are Favored Hoplite and Vanguard of Brimaz. This deck definitely needs a turn 1 creature, otherwise the tempo loss is too much.

As for spells to trigger Heroic, you need them to be efficient as well. Travel Preparations hits two targets at a time and can be cast again from the graveyard. Warriors' Lesson hits two targets and grants you card advantage. You'll need your protection spells to be 1-mana, such as Gods Willing or Apostle's Blessing. You should play a full 4 Rancor too.

The land base looks really budget, and can of course be upgraded.

If I wanted to play Bant Heroic, I would go:

23 Creatures

  • 4x Favored Hoplite
  • 4x Lagonna Trailblazer
  • 4x Phalanx Leader
  • 4x Vanguard of Brimaz
  • 3x Sage of Hours
  • 3x Artisan of Forms
  • 1x Akroan Skyguard

17 Spells

  • 4x Travel Preparations
  • 4x Warriors' Lesson
  • 4x Rancor
  • 1x Lead by Example
  • 4x Path to Exile or 4x Protection spells

20 Lands

  • 4x Flooded Strand
  • 4x Windswept Heath
  • 2x Misty Rainforest
  • 1x Temple Garden
  • 1x Hallowed Fountain
  • 1x Breeding Pool
  • 2x Plains
  • 1x Forest
  • 1x Island
  • 3x Other

This is the heroic deck I've been looking for. Well laid out, and very good. My only suggestions are to maybe A) Add Satyr Hoplite B) Change up your use of green so green in this deck isn't just for pump spells. (Either add some green creatures or just swap out your green pump spells for red or white ones) Here are a few green creatures with heroic. The green heroic creatures are not to good compared to the red and white ones :(

Hero of Leina Tower

Setessan Oathsworn

Staunch-Hearted Warrior

Centaur Battlemaster

and Anthousa, Setessan Hero

Hi! I also tried to update Ultra-budget: Bramblewood Fight Club and that's what I get:

What do you think?

I disagree about Staunch-Hearted Warrior- it's too much mana. However, Servant of the Scale Seems very good.

In your Krallenhorde Value section, I think bringing back the Staunch-Hearted Warriors is a good plan as the heroic triggers bring a great deal of power to the deck (and a heroic body will be difficult to find without their addition). However, I would not even contemplate Ivy Lane Denizen. I've tried to make that guy work in so many different +1 counter decks to no avail. He's just too slow to really do much.

Another small suggestion, I think switching bond beetle for Servant of the Scale could be very worthwhile. Although bond beetle can pump an already large creature (or itself, yes, but.. why), servant of the scale offers some +1 counter protection. So trading or chumping an attacker with the servant will then just grow another creature. I think the extra value you can pick up from servants is something to consider.
