Ogre Geargrabber

Creature — Ogre Warrior

Whenever Ogre Geargrabber attacks, gain control of target Equipment and opponent controls until end of turn. Attach it to Ogre Geargrabber. When you lose control of that Equipment, unattach it.

@RobertNixilis: Neheb, the Eternal is now in, I cut Ogre Geargrabber for it. I will be able to play the deck tonight a few times and test how Neheb works out. Thanks again for your suggestion.

I think it's Ogre Geargrabber over Vulshok Battlemaster for cuts, but you are the professional here. I've only had Neheb for a couple months.

Hey RobertNixilis, thanks for your comment. Those are awesome suggestions. Raging River looks very intriguing and fitting for my deck. I'll see if I can get my hands on a copy. I have thought about adding Neheb, the Eternal myself already, but haven't had the guts to try him out until now.

I have been playing and constantly adapting this deck for 3 years now, so the list is pretty tight. Do you have any suggestions of possible cuts for the two cards you suggested? Maybe cut Ogre Geargrabber for Neheb, the Eternal, as I will still have Vulshok Battlemaster who does more or less the same as the Ogre?

I only play paper magic, no MTGO. So yes, I have it all foiled out in paper.

Crown-Hunter Hireling is a great cheap Ogre worth including. In B/R, and especially in a budget build, card draw is scarce, and the monarchy is great way to solve that problem. And give you an excuse to hit people.

Deathforge Shaman is a great finisher creature to play, and its also super strong with Rakdos since you can use the mana for its multikicker instead of casting it.

Heartless Hidetsugu is an absolutely nasty creature that really helps accelerate aggressive games, and is super powerful in multiplayer. Lets you play stuff nearly for free with Rakdos in play.

Hellhole Flailer is strong creature for its casting cost, and is just about strictly better than, say, Ogre Resister.

Henchfiend of Ukor is a cool-looking Ogre that fits into your colors and comes in swinging.

Ogre Geargrabber seems like interesting tech against voltron decks, or if you want to get rid of a Sword of X and Y from something.

Rustmouth Ogre is hard, repeatable artifact removal; an essential effect in EDH.

Singe-Mind Ogre has real potential to hit something super huge, especially in Commander where the average mana curve is much higher.

Treasonous Ogre is everything you want in EDH. Floods life into mana for casting big creatures, or just enough for that Deathforge Shaman multikicker. Dethrone is also a super relevant ability.

Viscera Dragger has a lot of value going for it; cycle it for another card, and then unearth it for two mana for extra attacking power.

Neotrup on How does stitcher's Graft works?

Additionally, if Stitcher's Graft somehow becomes attached to an opponent's creature (perhaps Ogre Geargrabber), when it becomes unattached, if you control the equipment again, you will trigger it's ability and attempt to sacrifice you're opponent's creature. As you don't control the creature, you will fail to sacrifice it and the ability will do nothing.

701.15a To sacrifice a permanent, its controller moves it from the battlefield directly to its owner's graveyard. A player can't sacrifice something that isnt a permanent, or something that's a permanent he or she doesn't control. Sacrificing a permanent doesn't destroy it, so regeneration or other effects that replace destruction can't affect this action.

Nice deck! Look forward to seeing how this evolves.

Based on your description, if you plan to wait until you have some nice Equipment out before you cast and attack with Aurelia, I might recommend more cards that work nicely with Equipment.

Cards that help you tutor Equipment out from library or graveyard: Steelshaper's Gift, Quest for the Holy Relic, Steelshaper Apprentice, Godo, Bandit Warlord (lets Aurelia attack up to 3 times per turn if you make Aurelia and Godo attack at different first times each turn), Taj-Nar Swordsmith, Nahiri, the Lithomancer, and Auriok Survivors.

Cards that more easily let you attach Equipment: Puresteel Paladin, Leonin Shikari, Auriok Steelshaper, Brass Squire, and Auriok Windwalker.

Cards that let you steal (even if temporarily) Equipment from other players: Ogre Geargrabber and Magnetic Theft.

Cards that give benefits for having equipped creatures: Stone Haven Outfitter and Weapons Trainer.

Note that Open the Armory has a higher mana cost than Steelshaper's Gift, but it does allow you to tutor out Aura cards. The only problem with including this is that I don't see any Aura cards in this deck so far. However, if you're keeping it in the deck instead of Steelshaper's Gift for budget reasons, that makes sense, too, as Steelshaper's Gift is 10 times as expensive as Open the Armory.
