Lightning Serpent

Creature — Elemental Serpent

Trample, haste

Lightning Serpent enters the battlefield with X +1/+0 counters on it.

At end of turn, sacrifice Lightning Serpent.

Lightning Serpent Is an amazing elemental, I've been modifying $50 Sack of Elementals And once you pull the right cards like Incandescent Soulstoke and Smokebraider then it's pretty low mana cost. Lightning Serpent is a good little mana funnel, especially late game. (If a deck that's basically only elementals ever reaches late game)

I did some playtesting and found I didn't get much out of Thunderkin and Skelemental. I love those cards, but they didn't synergize well with the deck outside of having each other.

I think and Lightning Serpent (even for X=0 to trigger Risen Reef) and Splinterfright might take their spots and then you could cut black.

Damn youre right have to consider Jaya just because of her name haha. Lightning Serpent doesnt synergize that well with Incandescent Soulstoke and Thunderkin Awakener , so thats why I didnt put it in the deck.

If this deck is all about the rule of cool what about Jaya Ballard, Task Mage . Baller is literally part of her name. Also Lightning Serpent is fireball on a stick.

Maybe try Ball Lightning , or Scampering Scorcher for a swarm strategy that you can bring back with Thunderkin Awakener . Instead of Lightning Serpent i would put in Spark Elemental because Lightning Serpent cant enter with +1/+0 counters on it from Thunderkin Awakener .

Well, Young Pyromancer was an incorrect choice. Lightning Serpent ... seems better?!?

Good call, Rorolith...so, maybe Young Pyromancer , or some Lightning Serpent stuff. Not a bad problem to have...

Snowmen1 Sundial of the Infinite is actually one of my favourite cards to play in this deck because of the unique effect, it being such a weird and unused card, and the splash of control it adds to the deck! (although it doesn't come up very often) Funny you should mention Spark Elemental because it was actually the original 1-drop for this deck! It actually got replaced with Lightning Serpent because of the late-game mana dump that you mentioned. Not too sure about the direct damage spells as Shriekmaw absolutely destroys most creatures and can be sideboarded for Guiltfeeder , and really controls the board when you can play it multiple times with Thunderkin Awakener . Altough, Lightning Axe does play into the discard strategy so I'll have a look for sure! As for the Nova Chaser s, the idea is to bin them via Tormenting Voice or Incandescent Soulstoke so that they can be reanimated by Thunderkin Awakener . Their champion effect also allows for cards like Shriekmaw 's and Flamekin Harbinger 's abilities to trigger multiple times for added value. Furthermore, championing a Thunderkin Awakener when it enters removes it from combat and can protect it from dying while adding a lot of pressure. Although, it may be worth cutting one or two to make room for some other stuff. The toolbox sideboard is an amazing idea so thank you for that suggestion! Unfortunately Thoughtseize and Collective Brutality are a bit too pricey for me, although you're correct in saying that they'd make good additions, maybe even on the mainboard! Thank you so much for all the suggestions and feedback!
