Help Topic: Searching

The search feature on TappedOut is a great way to find decks, cards, users, comments, and more. Knowing how to use it will make your life easier.

General Searching

Clicking the magnifying glass icon on the header bar will open a small search menu. You can use the provided text field to submit a query for anything. Once that search is completed, you will be taken to a new page where all results are displayed. Any cards, decks, users, cubes, and threads that match or contain the search phrase will be listed as links.

Advanced Searching

If you open the search menu again, you'll notice that there are two options below the text field: card search and deck search.

Advanced Searching - Cards

Clicking the card search option will take you to the advanced search page for MTG cards. This page provides a detailed form and you can fill out any number of fields for a single query. Searching will return all results that match all provided information. Please note that the searches are very specific, so what you type in makes a difference. For example, searching for cards with rules text "draw a card" will return different results than searching for cards that say "draw cards." If you aren't getting any results with your queries, try tweaking your search terms a bit.

The advanced card search page lets you search by name, converted cost, rules, keywords, subtype, type, format, rarity, color, and set.

Advanced Searching - Decks

Clicking the deck search option will take you to the advanced search page for MTG decks. This page provides a detailed form and you can fill out any number of fields for a single query. Searching will return all results that match all provided information. Please note that the searches are very specific, so what you type in makes a difference. For example, searching for decks named "Cawblade" will return different results than searching for decks named "Caw blade." If you aren't getting any results with your queries, try tweaking your search terms a bit.

The advanced deck search page lets you search by name, color, format, price, and score.
