DemonDragonJ on Diabolic Revelation or Rune-Scarred Demon?

Most of the users here seem to be suggestion that I use the demon, and I agree with them, but I simply wished for reassurance, so I shall make that change, since Diabolic Revelation is a nice card, but I would need to spend at least 2 mana, ideally at least 3 mana, on to truly receive good value from the spell, which may leave me with no mana to cast any of the cards that I find, whereas the demon shall provide me with a sizeable creature for attacking and blocking while I wait for my next turn, on which I can cast the card that I found, presuming that I do not have sufficient mana to cast it, on the same turn that I find it.

RiotRunner789, my Sen Triplets deck does not have major focus on reanimating creatures, as it is a control deck, so I shall need large and powerful creatures to protect myself while I assemble my forces and then finish off my opponents, once I have sufficiently established my presence in the game.

Niko9 on Diabolic Revelation or Rune-Scarred Demon?

Hmm, I think in general I'd say Rune-Scarred Demon is better, but in your deck you have a lot of interaction and a lot of cards that are good for specific situations, and I actually think Diabolic Revelation might be better to set up multiple plays, or get something to counter another player and something to further your board at the same time.

I almost hate to suggest it because it may be too mean, but what do you think about something like Overburden or Mana Breach to load up opponent's hands with lands? Expel from Orazca is a favorite card of mine and might also work, return a card you want to play with Sen, or if in ascend, then it's brutal because you remove a threat and screw up their next draw.

Also, there's no way it works, but Patron of the Moon doesn't work with Sen Triplets does it? It does say your hand, so I assume you can't play lands with patron from an opponent's hand, but maybe? It would just be a fun play to bounce lands back to their hand and then jam them out on your field. Doubt it works, but hey, the patron kami's will get their day!

DemonDragonJ on Diabolic Revelation or Rune-Scarred Demon?

I have a copy of Diabolic Revelation in my Sen Triplets EDH deck, although I am considering replacing it with a copy of Rune-Scarred Demon, since I like having a powerful 6/6 creature with flying, which I could potentially summon repeatedly, to use its ability multiple times.

What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Diabolic Revelation with Rune-Scarred Demon, or keep the sorcery in that deck?

DemonDragonJ on Which Card(s) Should Replace the …

I have also considered putting Tivit, Seller of Secrets into my Sen Triplets deck, but I feel that I should save him for a deck that is dedicating to voting, if I should ever build such a deck.

DemonDragonJ on Which Card(s) Should Replace the …

I used to have copies of The Immortal Sun in most of my EDH decks, but I have been replacing those copies with cards that better suit the themes of those decks, so I wish to ask for advice for specific decks.

First, I am wondering about my Sen Triplets EDH deck; that deck is a very controlling deck, so one card that I am considering is Myrel, Shield of Argive, since she is a more powerful version of Grand Abolisher, although I certainly would be willing to hear other suggestions, as well. I was also considering replacing the sun with Esper Sentinel, but I am not certain if I actually need that card in that deck, with all the other sources of card advantage that that deck has.

Second, I am seeking a replacement for the sun in my Teneb, the Harvester EDH deck, but this shall be a more challenging replacement, as there are numerous cards that would work well with that deck. My first choice was Karador, Ghost Chieftain, as this is the only deck in which he would fit, and, with his inherent cost-reducing ability, he would usually cost less then 8 mana to summon, but, as good as he is, he is merely a 3/4 that allows me to cast a creature spell from my graveyard once per turn. I then considered Sepulchral Primordial, but I do not wish to raise the mana curve of this deck, and that creature is only a 5/4 for seven mana. I also am considering either Sun Titan or Angel of Indemnity, as they clearly work with the theme of this deck, but the restrictions on their abilities may limit their utility in this deck, although the encore ability of the angel is nice, as I can sacrifice the tokens that it generates before they sacrifice themselves. Then, I am considering Grave Titan, since it can easily send creatures to my opponents' graveyards, for me to steal, as well as generating tokens for me to sacrifice, so I have numerous options for that deck.

What does everyone else say about this? What cards should I use to replace The Immortal Sun in my decks?

Absolutely loving this deck very well done sir!

My only issue currently is what to drop for the Mox's, slightly leaning towards just dropping 2 mountains but obviously counter productive to the game plan.. I'm also not quite sold on Memory Jar I love just being disruptive and throwing Wheel of Fortune down and seeing my friends reactions but I do see with Goblin Welder how jar is a wheel on steroids! My biggest fear is the amount of artifact hate my group has with one person's life goal to mill you out, another plays Sen Triplets exclusively so any tips to get around those would be much appreciated!

IIRC Maro's suggestion was instead making it so that when you add mana outside of your commander's color identity, it's automatically filtered into that much . (Sorry, Sen Triplets!)

Gidgetimer on Does casting a copy count …

You have all the necessary pieces, you are just overthinking it a bit. The MtG comp rules are always interpreted exactly literally. To play an object means to put a land into play as a special effect, or to cast a spell. Some copy effects, such as Cipher or Isochron Scepter, make a copy in a zone besides the stack and then instruct you to cast it. You are casting the spell, so it is played.

As noted previously Ink-Treader Nephilim (as well as every other trigger condition I can think of that used to say "play") has been eratta-ed to say "cast". "Play" is only currently used in effects that allow you to play cards that you otherwise would not be able to (like Abbot of Keral Keep or Fight Rigging. Though even that templating for "play" seems to be going away because things like Sen Triplets and Bolas's Citadel say "play lands and cast spells" in their oracle text.
