I'm fascinated by the Owling Mine strategy, and since I never got to play it myself, I figured this would be a good way to experience its dynamics. The deck offers a unique spin on both Forgetful Fish as a format, and Owling Mine as a strategy. Since the only damage sources rely on the opponent drawing cards or having a large hand, casting Howling Mine comes with significant risk. Without a way to punish your opponent for drawing cards, your mine becomes a liability, as it not only opens the door for your opponent to punish you, it also helps your opponent draw into the cards they need. My initial build had Boomerangs and Izzet Boilerworks, but we found bouncing your opponent's red sources to be too punishing, especially Izzet Boilerworks, which is a painful land in itself, in that playing it doesn't take a card out of your hand. Unlike classic Forgetful Fish, there are no lands with solid ETB triggers, and cycling typically isn't a good use of mana, so the absence of the ability to bounce your lands wasn't a loss. Halimar Depths was considered, but given that players routinely draw 3+ cards on their draw step anyway, the ability to manipulate the top of the deck would only rarely be relevant.
