wingmate roc + mirror mockery

Asked by Sinist3r 8 years ago

So if I have Mirror Mockery attached to Wingmate Roc when the copy of the wingmate comes into play due to Mirror Mockery does the raid ability trigger?

Maybe - if you control both the Roc that attacked as well as the Mockery, the ability will trigger. If you enchanted your opponent's Roc, the ability will not trigger, because you (the controller of the token created by the Mockery) didn't attack this turn.

In a 2HG game, if you enchanted your teammate's Roc and you also attacked with another creature of your own, it will trigger as well and get you a token respectively.

The copy's raid ability will trigger because the copy entered the battlefield after you declared the original Wingmate Roc as an attacker (which is how you triggered Mirror Mockery's ability to create the token).

The copy's last ability will not trigger because the copy was never declared as an attacker.

If it is on your own Wingmate Roc, yes raid will be active and the raid ability will put the bird token in play. If it is on an opponent's Wingmate Roc, then obviously you didn't attack with a creature this turn and so the raid ability will not create a token.

Thanks everyone, this definitely helps because i'm writing out a decklist for standard that'll involve a lot of plays involving Mirror Mockery when ORI is released
