What happens if a mutated creature gets bounced back to my hand?

Asked by Seiva 2 years ago

if Vadrok, Apex of Thunder is mutated to another creature and my opponent cast lets say Barrin, Tolarian Archmage does my opponent have two options?

Can they target just Vadrok, Apex of Thunder or do both creature cards return to hand since they are technically one entity?

Polaris says... Accepted answer #1

A mutate stack is a single permanent/creature. Everything that is in the stack will go back to your hand together, then any tokens in the stack (if any) cease to exist.
