What abilities to land creatures have?

I want to play Muraganda Petroglyphs, and it seems like a cool idea do combine this with Awaken cost cards nowadays.

Does basic land, if it is a creature, have any abilities?

Back in the day, a land creature would have had

"T: Add M to your mana pool."

Land card formats have changed. Do they still have that ability? Do they have any abilities at all if they are nonbasic--and thus would be affected by the Muraganda Petroglyph effect?

From Gatherer:

Animated basic lands have mana abilities, so they wont get the bonus.
