Urza's Ruinous Blast + Artifact Land

Asked by rsxbwa 3 years ago

During our play group, I casted Urza's Ruinous Blast while one of my opponents had Seat of the Synod and Vault of Whispers in play. He says because it is a land, they are not exiled, while I'm saying it shares type artifact and should be exiled. Does his land get exiled?

No, the term "nonland" refers to permanents which do not possess the given type, not to permanents which possess types other than the given type.

Any permanent with the type "Land" is not a nonland permanent. Be it Dryad Arbor an activated Stalking Stones, an artifact land, or anything else.
