Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Contagion

Asked by Ozzywozywoz 9 years ago

Hello,

I'm playing manaless dredge, and I heard you can use and Contagion or Sickening Shoal agents Thalia, Guardian of Thraben ?? Is this true, and how?

Thanks! :)

I really do not understand this question. The only way I see how this might be confusing is that even when you are paying the alternative mana cost (for free) on these cards, you still have to pay 1 colorless mana because of Thalia. Otherwise, the cards you describe work just fine.

If that does not answer your question, please restate it, as it is not very clear.

gatherer says the following: "The ability affects the total cost of each noncreature spell, but it doesn't change that spell's mana cost or converted mana cost." Therefore you still have to pay one mana for each of those spells.

thank youI mean Im playing MANALESS DREDGE, ie, no mana... but I saw on a forum people were using both 'free' spells Contagion or Sickening Shoal on Thalia...

I assumed you couldn't play it, hence my question... but I just questioned myself if I knew the rules like on 'instead of paying mana cost...' on the 2 spells.

Maybe they were playing 1-2 lands... and not truly manaless, which I missed..

Remember to mark an answer and that you can use Gutshot for the same purpose and none of the card disadvantage.
