Surprise Sidewinder Sliver - When?

So Sidewinder Sliver's ability is a triggered one. When is the last possible moment for me in combat to flash it in, so that it would trigger effectively in the same combat? Can I wait until after all blockers have been declared?

Sidewinder Sliver's ability is a static one. Flanking itself is a triggered ability.

A triggered ability needs to exist before the event that would trigger it. Your last chance to get something into the field pre-blocks is at the end of the declare attackers step. If you wait for the declaration of blockers, it will be too late to get Sidewinder Sliver out in time for flanking to trigger.
