So how does the Helm+Peace combo work?

Asked by Bob_Da_Epic 7 years ago

I've always heard of the Rest in Peace+Helm of Obedience but I never really understood it. I keep reading the card text over again and again and still don't understand it. I know it sounds extremely retarded but can someone explain how the combo works to me?

Rest in Piece's second ability created a replacement effect that replaces the event of cards being put into the graveyard to be exiled instead. This means that cards are never going to be put into the graveyard as long as it's on the battlefield.

Helm of Obedience causes your opponent to put cards from their library into their graveyard until a creature card is put in the graveyard. This will never happen, as Rest in Piece prevents any cards from going into any graveyard.

Your opponent will end up exiling their entire library, likely losing in their next draw step due to drawing from an empty library.

OH thanks for clearing that up. The part that always confused me was the activation cost being X. This confused me as it said which ever comes first. But now you have explained the Rest in Peace part which I totally missed. Thanks BlueScope!
