Roaming Throne + Theroes Gods triggering when lacking devotion?

Short version, just for the sake of being 100% certain, if I have, say, Purphoros, God of the Forge and a Roaming Throne (creature type: God) but lack the devotion to make Purphoros a creature, does Roaming Throne double the trigger when something else ETBs?

I'm assuming not, but never hurts to be sure.

If you lack the devotion, Purphoros won't be a creature, meaning the trigger wouldn't be affected by Roaming Throne, so you are correct! It's a good idea to double check stuff in Magic, this game is designed to be hard enough to generate misplays/misunderstandings in all but the very best players.
