Kellan, the Fae-Blooded

Asked by indieinside 5 months ago

I have never used a card like Kellan, the Fae-Blooded. How does it work if I am wanting to search? Do I cast the creature and then pay the additional cost?

The Birthright Boon section is kind of treated as a separate card. When you play an Adventure card, you choose whether you're playing the spell part or the creature part. If you cast the creature part, it acts like a normal creature. If you play the spell part, when it resolves, you can exile it. If you do, you can play the creature part later. Note that this doesn't work both ways--if you cast the creature, you can't exile it to cast the spell later.

The reminder text for this is spelled out on other Adventure cards, like Lonesome Unicorn.
