Karn, Silver Golem making an artifact a creature and Vanish into Memory

If I turn Spine of Ish Sah into a 7/7 creature with Karn, Silver Golem's ability, then blink it with Vanish into Memory, will Spine of Ish Sah still be a creature? Will I have to discard those cards?

7/15/2006 If the creature exiled with Vanish into Memory isnt a creature card (for example, it was an animated Gruul War Plow), that card will still be returned to the battlefield, but not as a creature. Since the card returned to the battlefield has no toughness, you discard no cards.

Vanish into Memory actually has a specific ruling clarifying this, but you could get the same answer by taking the process step by step with the comprehensive rules. The ruling says: "If the creature exiled with Vanish into Memory isnt a creature card (for example, it was an animated Gruul War Plow), that card will still be returned to the battlefield, but not as a creature. Since the card returned to the battlefield has no toughness, you discard no cards."
