Jace's +1 and Complete Disregard combo?

Asked by Slowgod 8 years ago

I have not seen this interaction before, and I'm not 100% sure on if it works or not:

Basically you use Jace, Telepath Unbounds +1 to give a 4-5 power creature -2/0 until next turn, reducing it to 2-3 power. Then you cast Complete Disregard on it and exile it. A nice cheap way to get rid of a Siege Rhino or Tapped Ojutai etc... Does this actually work or does Complete Disregard only check for the power that is actually printed on the card and not the current power due to buffs/debuffs?

Complete Disregard checks the current stats. If it cared about base stats, it would specify that.

Anything that cares about a card's characteristics (type, color, P/T, name, etc.) takes into account all effects that would modify those characteristics. Shrinking a creature with Jace, Telepath Unbound is a great way to enable Complete Disregard.
