Is Germ a Real Creature Type?

Batterskull, Kaldra Compleat, etc all make a "Phyrexian Germ" token, but there is no actual printed creature with the type 'Germ'. So can I name Germ as a creature type for Unclaimed Territory?

You can totally name 'Germ'. It is indeed a real creature type. Or 'Phyrexian', for that matter.

But if you name 'Germ' you can only ever use that colored mana off Unclaimed Territory to cast Changelings like my favorite Germ, Mirror Entity.
