Is Deepglow Skate banned in EDH?

Asked by ManaChrome 7 years ago

So, tried to get back into deckbuilding with a wacky edh deck... added Deepglow Skate and was surprised to see it being the reason my EDH deck was illegal to the format... Just checked the gatherer to see if it was legal or not... it does say legal... but I'm still confused about this... halp...

I don't believe so. It's not on the for the format. Furthermore I was just receiving a message telling me that the deck I was working on was illegal because Command Tower and Commander's Sphere were illegal in the format, among some others, so I assume it's a temporary bug on this site.

The link I provided didn't work there.

It's not on the *official card banlist for the format: http://magic.wizards.com/en/content/commander-format

@Yesterday: WOTC does not manage Commander. Commander is managed by a third party and the official site is here

Never go by what tappedout says is legal or not legal, always go by the official lists either managed by WotC or by the folks at the site Epochalyptik linked if you're looking at EDH. Tappedout has always been a little buggy when it comes to card legalities, so you can't rely on it, especially if you KNOW a card is legal but it says it's not.

@ Epochalyptik: All right? The page I linked has a list that's up to date and is more intuitive and links to relevant products.

The page you linked is neither the official rules page nor is it guaranteed to be accurate with every format change. WotC-managed Commander pages tend not to be maintained as well as the RC's authoritative page.

While it's fine to list WotC's page as a reference, it should not be described as official.
